Sure they do. But I believe that it's not the place itself (nature, woods, mountains,...) that has the biggest impact on our personality and behaviour - but the culture and society around mentioned place.

The places of my childhood
Normally, I wouldn't really count a vacation spot as a place that would shape your life but we returned to the same vacation spot for a dozen years and so that place is a key feature of my childhood.
Where I am from now
Our family vacations on the gulf shores
Another important place my life
A place that impacts all Americans

In my mind it will always be about it's original intent. The American dream was just a dream after all, but it was a good dream that raised the sea for many.

How many important places are there in your life?
Putting together this lens has made me realize that I have more lenses I need to make if I really want a lens for every important place in my life! I can think of at least seven more places I need to include. How about you? How many important places are there in your life?

- Rome and indeed will always hold a special place in my heart and the Rome related lenses were probably amongst the first I created as a result

- I've been making lenses about some of the small towns that my ancestors lived in (Reading, Tyro, Teterville in Kansas, Wincanton England) so I guess those have shaped who I am as well as places I've lived. Maybe after the holidays, I should make some lenses about my own places.
