Jaguar and Daimler Classic and Modern Cars. Reviews and Articles

Jaguars and Daimlers are British luxury cars made by the Jaguar Car company based in Coventry, UK. part of the Jaguar Land Rover company which is itself a subsidiary of the Indian company Tata Motors (previously owned by Ford) Daimlers are the special luxury version of the biggest Jaguar "XJ" models often badged as "Vanden Plas" for the US market.

Sir William Lyons created the the Swallow Sidecar Company in 1922, originally making motorcycle sidecars. The Jaguar name was adopted during the second world war because the initials SS could have caused offense. Jaguar merged with the British Motor Corporation in 1968 and later became part of British Leyland, then acquired by Ford in 1989.

Here is a selection of articles reviews and photos for Jaguar and Daimler car enthusiasts: The majestic "big saloons"; the XJ series, XJ6, XJ8, XJ12 the big svelte grand turismo (GT) coupes XK, XK8 and the powerful XKR to the iconic classics of the 1960s and 1970s such as the E-type Jaguar and the long running coupe, the Jaguar XJS... etc. Please see below for links to articles about these wonderful cars.

Jaguar XRK Review
The Jaguar XKR is a used car bargain: A classic supercar, the sister car of the Aston Marting DB7, but at more reasonable prices.
The Jaguar XJ12
A budget Bentley alternative, with a monstrous 6 litre V12 engine

My brother had an XKE when he was young. He loved it, but it leaked oil constantly. Apparently that was part of the package. I remember the joke...

"Why haven't the English produced a computer?"

"Because they haven't been able to figure out a way to make it leak oil!" lol

    Great joke...
Let me see. Where was the computer invented? Oh yes England, by Charles Babbage, in 1822, although that one probably did have an oil leak :)
