A Global View on LGBT
Challenging Prejudice and Celebrating our Achievements
I was searching around on Google for an interesting image I might be able to "borrow" and discovered this - but the story is even more inspiring.Project GayRussia.Ru will host the XXV conference of the International Lesbian & Gay Association (ILGA) in May 2010.
The purpose of this group is to bring together all the LGBT related lenses on Squidoo and present in one place the wonderful diversity of the global LGBT community, especially the great strides that are taking place in parts of the world where prejudice is still institutionalised or worse encouraged.
If you have an LGBT related lens please join this group and add your voice to the rainbow.

New Lensmasters
New members to the group
One of the benefits of a groups is sharing and support so please do check out these new lensmasters who haver recently joined the group.
A few things you can do if you like a lens:
1. Add a comment to their guest book
2. Add their lens to your favourites
3. Add their lens to the lens roll or apprpriate lenses
4. Rank their lens appropriately
5. Add their lens to your social bookmarks.
If we all do a few of those things we will all benefit from collaborating with each other and sharing in the group goal of raising awareness of LGBT issues.
How can we help to Promote the LGBT Group
...and especially promote each others lenses

1. Update your Lense Regularly
I have noticed that new content, just as with search engines, is key to improving ranking and traffic. Just pop into your lens at least once a week and update something.
2. Add LGBT Lenses to your lensroll
People tend to prefer human recommendations to search engine listings. Add your favourite LGBT Lenses to your lens roll then everyone who visits your lens may also visit your recommendations.
3. Add LGBT Lenses to your favourites
For the same reasons, if people like your lens they are likely to have a look at your favourites. If we are all adding each other to our favourites we are all bound to benefit.
4. Add LGBT Lenses to your Social Bookmarks.
I have added all the lenses in the LGBT group and the Group address to 12 Social Bookmark sites using Onywire. That creates high search engine profile and back links to your lens - it also means that anyone who checks out my social bookmarks is likely to find you.
You will need to enter the log-in details for the social book sites you use first.
5. Promote the LGBT Group wherever possible
Add the Squidoo LGBT Group link to your Lens Email Signature, Blog, Website, Myspace... in fact anywhere where you can help to bring traffic to the group. If we all drive traffic to the group we are all going to beneift much more.
To add to your lens - add this line to your introduction
This lens is part of the Squidoo LGBT Group

History of LGBT
Check out these lenses which reclaim LGBT HistoryOne of the most important tools for eliminating discrimination is to reclaim our history. Most history has excluded us or presented us in a very negative way - that constantly influences attitudes and promoted hostility. These lenses help to change that.

I think this is a great site and I've enjoyed reading the comments. However, I do feel that the LGBT should extend their hands to those who believe they are neurologically and/or physically intersexed. Relaunching the organisation in line with Europe as the LBGTI UK group. These people too are often oppressed and victims of hate crimes.
Many thanks and best regards.

I went ahead and submitted both lenses... I'm not sure if they fit the rest of the group or not; if they fit this group you can approve them, if not than just deny them. Let me know, thanks!

are fictional crossdressers okay? If so I've got lenses about 2 different ones: a fictional crossdresser and a fictional drag queen. (I'm a huge fan of both)

Hi
As a hypnotherapist I often get asked if I can hypnotise someone into feeling more confident about their sexuality, particular in the work place. In my experience confidence comes through facing up to a fear and in doing so, realising that you are bigger than your fears.
