Why Did I Get Married

This movie started out in a lecture hall of a university. Sheila (Janet Jackson) is a successful author and professor. While she was there to discuss another book, the class had questions regarding her book "Why Did I Get Married".

The basis of the movie is set around the premise that all couples have secrets. "What is done in the dark shall come out in the light" Infidelity, "baby momma drama" and lies are just a few of the many issues that will be addressed.

The movie does start out a bit slow in the first few minutes. Things soon pick up when Angela and Marcus show up. It was all uphill from here.

Jill Scott (Sheila) did an awesome job. There were times during the movie I just wanted to cry because I could feel her pain. I know there are men and women who treat there spouses this way. The scene on the airplane made my heart ache.

It was obvious that the way her husband was treating her that there were some infidelity issues and that there marriage would not last. Sheila tried to save their marriage but Mike had other ideas.

I'm sure we all know people who are focused on outer beauty. They only want to be with someone because of the way they look. Sheila learned to love herself and this is how she was able to release the pain.

You will be completely blown away by all the secrets that are revealed in this movie.

There are times when I ask myself, "Why Did I Get Married?" Sheila asked her friends to make a list. On one side write down all the things you spouse does that is good. On the other side write down all the things your spouse does that is bad. If the bad outweighs the good, cut your loses and move on. If the good outweighs the bad, fight for your marriage.

This was by far one of Tyler Perry's best movies. I didn't see the play and will purchase it this week. I highly recommend you go and see it.
