To quote Whole Earth Catalog founder Stewart Brand: "Good old National Geographic."

Any lens featuring books, DVDs, videos, software, or other materials from the National Geographic Society are welcome. I hear they even publish a magazine.

Nobody can tell you what lenses are "best" for your purposes. Here are a few of my favorites.

New Fresh Lenses

I'm not sure this is working properly, but it should show new arrivals.

National Geographic Magazines

The National Geographic Society has expanded since the days when their flagship National Geographic was the only magazine they published.

All sales (naturally) benefit the National Geographic Society.

Group Discussion

I've set the anti-spam shield to "on" (for now) so you will have to wait for your comments to be approved. When the sign-up frenzy subsides, I'll probably relax that.

As a long-time fan of National Geographic, I was glad to discover this group. Perhaps looking at all those great photos and stories influenced my dream to become a national park ranger - a career which I was fortunate to enjoy for 30 years. Hope you have a great 2007!

When I was a youngster, my grandparents had a 30 year collection of National Geographic magazines. I spent many an hour enjoying those great articles and photos. Perhaps that helps explain why I grew up to become a national park ranger and later a writer, and why I enjoy photography as a hobby.

Be sure to tag your (on-topic) lens "national geographic" When we collectively reach the magic number -- about 70 -- "national geographic" will appear in the tag cloud, and we'll all get a nice traffic boost! (Googling "National Geographic site:squidoo.com" turns up about 900 pages.)
