The Best Books To Read

We are prolific readers in our house and we have books in every room. We have books in boxes, on floors, on shelves, on tables, and in bins. I have books at home and at work and some books even travel back and forth with me too.

I have also passed on this love of reading to my son. Over the years we have created lenses for many of our favorite books, series, and authors and this is a lensography of those lenses as well as a tribute to some of the others we know will always be on our bookshelf.

We read for pleasure every day and cannot imagine life without books. Find out what we are reading and what we recommend as well as share a few notions of your own!

We love reading books so much that we cannot help sharing the books we love with others so we hope you will agree that this reading list includes some of the best adult fiction as well as the best books for children.

You can have this book poster for your very own!

Mission Impossible

LubosLabik says:

The mission is nearly impossible, my list still growing :)

blue22d says:

I have recently moved so we have books in storage. Had to give away several. Truly a book lover.

darciefrench says:

I've lost so many books to moves etc., but they always come back -:)

Wednesday_Elf says:

I've tried before to 'count' the number of books in my house, and get lost every time after maybe 600-700. I DO know, because I just moved, that I packed nearly 40 boxes with books, so I probably have over 1,000 books! Tried to 'downsize' before packing, and managed to give away to the library about two dozen books, but that was all I could bear to part with! :)

rwoman says:

Now that's just crazy talk!

Doable

Megal says:

I don't have an insane amount of books in my home. It would take about 2 hours or so to find them all and get them in one spot. However, when all done, I think there will be around fifty (or so).

vallain says:

It would take quite a few hours, but I think I could get a count. Actually while I'm at it, I ought to make a catalog of them so I could find one when I wanted to re-read it. I have a book room where most of the books are, but some are in the guestroom and others are strewn around the house wherever I read.

I'm glad to meet another reading fanatic. I have always been a reader and, thankfully, within just the last two years both my youngest son and his 12-year-old son have discovered the joy of reading. My oldest son, like me, has simply always loved reading!

I like self-help books and a good novel!

I seem to have developed a love of the classic american novels of Hemingway and Fitzgerald. (go alcoholic authors!)

I like to read true stories about people, history and current events.

No kidding, you've got a gold mine of lens ideas by the sounds of it.

I love ALL books, but my very favorites are mysteries. I've collected entire series by favorite authors (Dell Shannon, Dick Francis, Richard Lockridge, Sue Grafton, Tami Hoag, Mariah Stewart, Ed McBain, ... to name a few) and I re-read them all at least once a year. Other books that I probably won't read more than once, I 'borrow' from the library, but the ones I own are like old friends and I never tire of reading them. I agree, I probably have a few lens ideas waiting in my bookshelves (and tables, and under tables, upstairs and down.... ). Wonderful to meet someone else who is as book-crazy as I am. Lensrolled to my 'For the Love of Reading' lens and leaving a ~~SquidAngel Blessing~~ Now, off to read my latest book over my morning coffee!

Ah, the booklover's work is never done. I keep track of what I've already read by posting reviews on Amazon.
I'll lensroll this to some of my book lenses.

As I was working on this lens I realized just how many great lens ideas I have sitting on my bookshelves (and on the floor and in boxes...)
