The Pagan Path

I wanted to start a group devoted to the Pagan Path. There are so many different trails to walk, and I believe that all of the trails creates a path of individuality. In this group I want to create a home base for others who want to learn about Pagan beliefs but are not sure where to look. I know that having as much information as possible available helps others to explore and absorb what they need to or want to. It takes having an open mind to listen or to read about different walks in life. I have learned so much throughout my life by keeping an open mind. So I am hoping that this group will help to focus more on being open with other beliefs. I will not tolerate any judging in here. This group is not about that. If lenses are accepted into the group that is not what you follow on your path, you do not have to read them, but they do deserve to be respected as being someone else's hard work of writing and sharing what they do believe in.

I just think this is too cute to pass up....

Beltane Fun Activities By: Rosie

Beltane is a special sabbat. It is the celebration of Spring and Fertility.

Rosie, a dear Spirit Sister of mine shared two projects that I am real excited to post here in the Kitchen. These are projects that would be great altar pieces for the season change, and as a reminder that no matter how serious life can be, we always need to remember to play!!

Making a Fairy Ring

Imagine a beautiful evening when the sun is just setting, the sky is blue, mauve , indigo and orange, the air is warm with a wonderful smell of flowers on the air, there is a tiny sound of bells and the fairies are gathering in a ring.

Well, now you can make your own. This picture is one of mine.

Directions

You will need a block of air drying clay (white is best) have patience it takes a while to dry.

Take your clay and break off a piece enough to make a plate size circle- roll out on a cold board , (I used a plate to cut out the shape) Use a fork to make grass impressions.

Lift off and place on a wire cooling wrack.

Now the fun starts, making your mushrooms and toad stools, take small pieces for the stalks and just roll between fingers , not too tall or the mushroom cups will pull them over. When you have enough leave on the wire wrack to dry and harden. But while this part is drying why not make a few logs and flowers too- just let your imagination flow.

Next make your mushroom tops: I made some cupped , some pointy , take a small ball of clay and form your shape remember to hollow out under so it will sit on a stalk.

Again leave to dry.

Now this will take some time depending on how thick you have made the clay, turn and check every few days .

When dried carefully remove from the wire rack and paint up the base first , then the stems of the mushrooms. You can use a glue gun to secure the caps to the stems. Or you can firmly push the caps onto the stems. Now go crazy with those mushrooms, you can paint them all different colours. Varnish when dry and display all of your fairies around it.

Remember: The Fae love bright colors, so it is very important to allow your child within to come out and play, play, play!!

Making a Maypole

Fairy size and/or Altar Size

You will need -
a tube (not as wide as kitchen roll inner tube approx one half inch in diameter)
and approx 1 foot high
a piece of modelling clay
glue gun
ribbons in one quarter inch dia. x one and quarter the length of the pole.
red, green, yellow, orange, white, gold, silver.
a crown or a trianglar top piece for the pole.

first mold the clay into a round shape with a raised centre, make the hole for the pole, leave to dry or bake.

Prepare the pole by either painting and or wrapping a ribon around it to do this take a white thin ribbon and place it on top of the pole at mid point of ribbon, then stick down criss cross the ribbon down the pole and secure by pushing inside.

When the base is dry paint it up .
Place pole into hole use a glue gun for safety.
now hang ribbons from the top glue in, crown with your crown or top piece.
you can also add flowers to the base and top or just jewels etc. finish by rolling up the ribbons to tidy or cross a few over as in maypole dance.

Greetings all! I am a fledgling kitchen witch and hedgewitch, and refer to myself as spiritual rather than religious. My path is made up of many strands, including Druidry, Paganism and Celtic Christianity.
I am very much enjoying reading everyone's lenses here on Squidoo, and of course creating them too!
Bright Blessings x

My name is Calme Wynde and I am an Indigo, feminist Witch. I have officially ben a witch for more than eight years and officialy allof my life. I used to think that I was Wiccan, but after much study and podering, I`m realizing that Wicca is man-made, so after a few modifications, so to speak, I know only call myself a Witch. To me, there is nothing more liberating than finding out who you really are what you are representing. Well, I am a Daughter of the Goddess and it feels good to say that. I am looking to meet other women, in friendship and in sisterhood who are like-minded. And thank you,WhiteOak for having me...Goddess bless.

Cerridwen and Hecate....

This is just a sample of the Lens. To view the whole thing please visit: Two Crone Goddesses

When I was about 40, I was sitting at my kitchen table harvesting some thyme that I had dried. I looked over towards my sink area and there stood a crone watching me. It was from that day on that I knew Cerridwen was my Crone Goddess. I had been studying herbs for a long while at that time, and since I have acknowledged Cerridwen, herbs and the cauldron have become even More important to me.

This lens is about the Crone Goddesses, Cerrridwen and Hecate. I hope that if you are reaching the age in your life where the Crone is knocking at your Spiritual Door you will welcome the one presenting their self to you with open arms.

Cerridwen: (Kare-ID-wen) Welsh Crone-is considered one of the Old Ones that embodies all three Lunar aspects of the Triple Goddess; Maiden, Mother and Crone. Although Cerridwen does embody the Lunar aspects of the triple goddess is mainly viewed as the Crone. Cerridwen was originally worshipped by the Walsh, but is also the Celtic Goddess of Inspiration, Knowledge and Wisdom.

Hecate is known as the Greek Goddess of the three paths. She is guardian of the household, protector of everything newly born. Hecate is the Goddess of Witchcraft. Throughout the centuries her reputation has been tarnished and she is viewed as the hag or old witch stirring the cauldron.

I spied your group while looking for kindred spirits. I do have one lens that may find a home here, though if not, I'm certain future writings will.

I have seen and experienced things in my lifetime and most recently that few will comprehend and I struggle to find words to express it...perhaps through my fictional writings I can come close.
