Five Reasons you Should Use Reusable Bags 


  • Reusable bags save valuable paper resources. Besides trees, paper bags use large amounts of water during production. Paper also winds up in a landfill, creating more waste.

  • Plastic bags never biodegrade into our environment. Plastic bags merely shred down into small bits. These pieces are toxic and will take thousands of years to decompose. These pollute waterways, streams, groundwater, and drinking water.

  • Plastic bags choke out wildlife. Wildlife cannot remove entangled plastic bags from their necks and often die from this problem. They're also frequently swallowed by whales, sea turtles and fish, causing them to die.

  • Plastic bags use oil to create them (oil is a key ingredient during production). Oil is the cause of many problems worldwide, and we need to conserve our oil and rely less on it. By using reusable bags, you'll reduce our dependence on oil.

  • Reusable bags will pay for themselves over time. Most grocery stores will now credit you for every reusable bag of your own that you bring. You're saving them money, so they're crediting you back for every bag you bring in.
