The Aliens of my Novel: Never Alone. The series developed while I drove a truck: 48 states and, 'Up There'. Want inspiration for writing? Go see America in a truck. You will meet all kinds of people, from Yankees, ( You guys are Proud of those bridges! 65$ to cross the Tapnzee! and that's on the way out!) to Navajo's. ( Don't forget to stop and see 'The Thing!' in Arizona.) Heading West out of Salt Lake with the sun rising behind you, just passing the Morton Salt Plant and the whole desert is PINK! ( At the TA truck stop, DON'T run out of stale cookies when feeding the seagulls!)
The Never Alone series features Truck Driver James Wilson, from the small West Texas town of Post Texas. The very lost and lonely earth-born alien he rescues at a rest area near Hermenston Oregon will set in motion things that will change the lives of every person on Earth. The aliens of the Commonwealth of Worlds and Places are watching and waiting to see if we perish or bloom. It's up to us.

I'm excited to see that this site includes horror as speculative fiction.
Before Stephen King arrived on the scene in the 80's, horror wasn't really seen as a separate genre. People like Damon Knight and Ray Bradbury put out all kinds of stories that were considered speculative fiction (called sci-fi & fantasy then) but which also had strong elements of horror.
I have trouble with this whole idea of genres. My own novels, which are considered fantasy (because they involve the use of magic), are actually science fiction with elements of adventure, action, romance and religion.
But what can you do? Readers are so used to certain types of fiction being relegated to specific genres, opposing those views involves a hefty penalty.

Hey Jared,
Ted may be a perfect candidate for The Deepening. I'm the horror editor there. Do you know how to get in touch with him regarding an author and/or book review? It would save me some research. I can be reached at: horror@thedeepening.com or at ccbye@shaw.ca.

I'm not sure if anyone has thought of Ted Dekker as a possible "Horror" writer. His book "HOUSE" along with Frank Perett is a fantastic book which they made into a movie. From the minds of multi-million selling suspense authors Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker comes House--an epic supernatural thriller that gives a new meaning to the phrase "haunted house."
In rural Alabama, two couples find themselves in a fight for survival. Running from a maniac bent on killing them, they flee deep into the woods and seek refuge in a house. They soon realize the killer has purposely lured them to this house and that they are now trapped. As they huddle around an old fireplace, a tin can falls through the chimney. Scrawled on its side is a message from the killer, establishing his House Rules. The rules call for their deaths unless they kill at least one of the four.
To see more of what Dekker has to offfer please take a look at me lens..
