Are you kidding? Look at that list...thats like asking someone to choose which of their children they like best. Even though they are all referred to as Southern Rock, they all had distinct styles. Skynyrd were the fore fathers of folks like Montgomery Gentry, rock with a slight twinge of country. Same with Wet Willie. The Allmans were a blues band, pure and simple. Hatchet and Blackfoot were hard rock, pure and simple...with enough 'gators and bass fishing to keep it interesting. The rest a variations of the above. Pick the best...not doable

For "newer" bands, I like Warren Haynes and Gov't Mule. What do you think?
Also, I have to say the Derek Trucks may be better than Duane Allman on slide guitar. He is certainly a monster player.
Just started my own guitar lens, GuitarsByReallySlowHand, covering all styles.
Thanks for the Southern Rock coverage! I voted for the Allman Brother.

For a new one - I'd say Drive By Truckers. I voted for Molly Hatchet. I saw them in concert way back. Massive.
