Getting Serious About Refugees
Did you know that there are some 33 million refugees worldwide?
The American Refugee Committee (ARC) has provided humanitarian assistance and training to millions of beneficiaries over the last 27 years. ARC works with refugee communities in 10 countries around the world, helping people regain control of their lives. The ARC offers shelter, clean water and sanitation, health care, skills training, microcredit education, and protection in countries like Liberia, Sierre Leone, and Pakistan.
So come on, consider donating some of those royalties you have flooding in.
Or better yet, build a new lens for the American Refugee Committee at its Squidoo Headquarters.
And an update on the Squidoo Charity Fund...
As a way to honor the inspiring work that they're doing for refugees, Squidoo gave the American Refugee Committee all proceeds from the Charity Fund for December. So thanks, lensmasters, and keep up the good work.

On Nov 17&18 Planet Gumbo took it's gumbo, music and message of hope to the New Orleans area. Residents and volunteers in the 9th ward and coastal Buras, Louisiana were treated to some great gumbo and music prepared and played and served by the Sauce Boss and his band The Ingredients. Along with its many other projects,Planet Gumbo has been focusing on "Shelter Shows" conducted by the Sauce Boss while he is on tour across the country. The recent purchase
of food preparation tools, lights and sound equipment, and generators now enable Planet Gumbo to go sooner to disaster sites without power
and be completely self-contained. Along with playing for residents of homeless shelters Planet Gumbo is bringing the message of sharing and
brotherhood to more and more people all across the country.

Success Stories, Rants, and RavesShare your success stories here. How did you market your lens? What did you do with all the $$ you earned? Any tips for the rest of us? Where do you need help?

Hi folks, I personally donate all my $$ from Squidoo back into theNourish the Children Initiative. I am unable to have Squidoo donate them directly as we are not a charity, of course, but the system works so far. Great group by the way.

Hi Talia,
I added the netflix to my lens to see what it looked like.
The only thing I would change about it would be if they would let us choose which of the movies we added rather than having to add the entire list.

Has anyone tried using the Netflix on their lens? What do you think...helpful? fun? a dud?
