Extra Accessories For Your Nintendo Wii
by Andres Garcia
When it comes to video game accessories, you can be sure Nintendo is there to back you up. When you first purchase the Wii, you'll notice that it comes packaged with Wii Sports, a fun game for the entire family. However, to really fully enjoy and really squeeze every ounce of value you can get out of your console, you may want to consider picking up some of these accessories.
An extra set of controllers. The Wii comes bundled with two different controllers, which connect with each other. Those being the actual Wii remote and the Nunchuck. You should be able to find the nunchuck for around $20 and an additional Wii remote for approximately $40. Having an extra set of controllers will come in handy for multiplayer games. The Wii is capable of recognizing up to four controllers at once.

Memory cards for Nintendo GameCube.
The Wii is actually backwards compatible with GameCube software titles. In order to support the software titles, you can purchase additional memory cards which will allow you to save your games. This is also a great money saver considering that GameCube games can be found for quite cheap. You can probably find these memory cards for around $25 or less.
Controllers for the GameCube.
As mentioned before, the Wii is backwards compatible with the GameCube. That being said, in order to play the GameCube software titles, you can not use a Wii controller, but a GameCube one instead. It is possible to use your existing GameCube controllers, but if you're controllers are anything like mine, they're pretty busted up. In that case, you can purchase a new one for about $25. For a couple dollars more, you can get a wireless Nintendo wave bird controller.

If you have bought some accessories for your Wii, tell me how many you have got now (don't include regular Wiimotes or Nunchucks).
You can use the Group Discussion box further down the page to tell us about your favourite accessory.
SD Card. An SD card will not only give you more space but also allows you to save your games. They are quite easy to find and a good size would probably be the 1 GB card. These go for about $25-$30 and carry plenty of space. In addition to this, you can always erase it if you wanted to and then simply reuse it.
Batteries. Because the Wii uses wireless controllers, this also means that it requires the use of batteries. Now, instead of purchasing batteries that die and then need to be thrown away, it's best to simply buy rechargeable batteries and a battery charger. This will save you a lot of money in the long run.
