Welcome to the Water Cooler Group
Hi!

Writing can be a lonely affair, but it doesn't have to be. I hope you'll find this group to be a unique blend of helpful hints, chitter chatter, and encouragement. Don't be shy! There are several discussion modules here to facilitate all sorts of conversation.
Rules for the Discussion Modules:
1. Your comments are on-topic (writing) and appropriate for a G-rated group.
2. In an attempt to facilitate open, spontaneous and flowing conversation, some of the discussion modules allow immediate posting. When responding to the comments of others, be kind and considerate. Any bullying, rudeness, posturing, picking fights and non-G rated comments will get you immediately banned from the group. Posting inappropriate links will also get you banned.
3. Do not post anything here that you don't want to see around the web, for instance, actual scenes from your WIPS.

Got a Question About Writing?
Ask it here.
There's no such thing as a stupid question, unless it's the question you don't ask. Can't guarantee instant answers, but hey, if you have a question, post it and check back to see who answers.
When answering questions, please remember there's no such thing as a stupid question. Please reference the question you're answering, and be kind in your reply.

Gee, I don't think you should make the lens too long, you don't want to give your readers a reason to leave! I couldn't really say as to what the "average length" is, but start with what you feel comfortable with and go from there. There are lots of nifty things you can add to your lens so that you're not having to come up with all the content on your own. You can do search a blog, for example, where you pick a topic and then the results for that topic are displayed, and they change, so it's not static. Hope this helps.

What is the length of a normal , average lens. I don't want to be a bore to some and / or it not be long enough for others. I write songs, and I also can write a book about fictional events and people. I am windy and also short of abrupt on other topics.
You don't want to catch me on a windy topic or day for me. hehe! Not unless it is a subject of interest to you. I hope I don't give anyone the " Allright, Allready,

Got tips?
We've all learned something along the way, a great tip that should be shared with the world. Here's your chance!
All tips should be in regards to writing, and if your tip is specific to a certain genre, please be sure to include that in your post. Please keep it G-rated. :D

If you can't take constructive, less-than-glowing comments from a trusted critique partner, you aren't ready to submit to an editor. Think about it--I'd personally rather have my CP tell my my prose is pukey than have an editor send me a rejection.
