Everything Starts As an Idea

As Einstein's relativity revolution revealed, everything is made of energy. Cells, molecules, atoms, protons and neutrons, quarks, gluons, mesons and bosons-they're all energy. The things that seem tangible to us, including ourselves, are simply energy slowed way down to a state that we recognize as "solid."But what does that mean, exactly, "energy slowed way down"?
Take an ice cube: we can find out where it came from by speeding it up, that is, by adding energy to it to raise its vibrational state. When we apply heat to our ice cube, it soon reverts to a liquid. Continue speeding up its vibration, and that liquid soon evaporates to steam, and then further into water vapor. Continue accelerating its rate of vibration, and the elements that formed that ice cube will eventually revert to a state of pure energy, and beyond that, cross the Cartesian barrier to become what lies beyond energy, which is consciousness or information.
That's where the ice cube came from: it was first an idea.
In our daily lives, we often describe those rarefied, super-energized states we cannot see as "spiritual," and the slowed-down, more substantial states we can see as "physical," but science has now told us that this is an arbitrary distinction, just a convenience of language and perception. The truth is, water is water; it came from the idea or "quantum potential" of water through the states of vapor, steam, liquid, and ice. It's all water. But it starts with an idea.
As simple as this equation sounds, it is an accurate summary of the findings from humanity's centuries-long quest to understand how the universe works, from the early Greek philosophers through Newton and Galileo through Einstein, Planck and the theoretical physicists of today. The results of this epic quest can be summed up in three monumental discoveries:
1) Everything in the physical world is made out of atoms.
2) Atoms are made out of energy.
3) And energy is made out of consciousness.
In other words, everything in nature, every phenomenon in the universe, starts as an idea.

You're no doubt familiar with the amazing power of compounding interest, which has often been called "the Eighth Wonder of the World." There is a similar force in business, just as powerful and in many ways more important: the power of the compounding customer. Customers who love what you do for them will tell others, who will then tell still more people. There is no marketing force more powerful than positive word of mouth from a satisfied customer.
This is not news to you; everyone knows this. The question is, how do you create that positive word of mouth? Most businesspeople strive for it by looking for ways to improve what they do, and that's certainly a good thing to do. But there's another critical place to look: make sure you are attracting the right customer in the first place.
Your ideal customer is the one who not only buys your product or service, but who buys it and uses it with passion. Your ideal customer is the one who really wants what you have to offer. The ideal customer doesn't just use your product, she loves your product. She doesn't just purchase your service; she feels that she couldn't live without it.
The more ideal your customers are, the fewer returns and complaints you'll have, so you'll generate that much more customer satisfaction. Once you start getting the right message to the right customers, they'll not only buy from you, they'll keep buying from you forever. They'll spend more money with you than the average customer ever would. They'll tell their family and friends to buy from you too. Identify your ideal customer and you'll soon find you are working less and earning more-a lot more.
Why don't more businesses take advantage of this amazing opportunity for leverage? Because they have no idea who their ideal customer is.
The only way you will attract your ideal customers to your business is if you first create a crystal-clear picture of who they are. Your ideal customers may be walking past your business unnoticed, right now, but if you haven't created that clear picture in your brain, your reticular activating system is filtering them out. Remember how the brain works: you only see what you're looking for.
Your ideal customer profile is vital to every facet of your business. It has an impact on product development (you want to develop product features that your ideal customers value), customer service (you want to meet the servicing criteria your ideal customers deem the most important), and marketing and sales (you want to take your ideal customers' highest values and concerns into consideration in crafting any marketing materials and sales script). Your ideal customer profile is so central to your business that every employee in your business should be thoroughly familiar with it. In fact, lack of employee knowledge and understanding of the customer profile is a common reason for business failure.
Most businesses put significant time, money and effort into attracting more customers. But simply serving more customers is not nearly as critical to your success as serving the right customers. When you match your business with the right customers, they will not only buy your product, they will serve as your advocates and ambassadors, sing your praises, tell the world about you-and bring you new customers. This is why it's well worth it to do the market research and define your ideal customer with as much clarity and precision as you can.
When you do, what you're really doing is exactly the same thing you do when you create a picture of your dream business by clearly and precisely identifying your own goals, dreams, values and aspirations. Only in this case, instead of building a picture of your dream business, you're building a picture of the dream customer that this business attracts. Once again you're creating a crystal clear image, using the magnifying glass of your conscious brain and its amazing powers of focus, imagination and analysis-and as you define this image and impress it upon your nonconscious brain, the Law of Attraction will bring it into your life, and into your business. Just as with any vision, once the picture is in sharp focus, you will nonconsciously marshal all the resources available, within you and without you, to manifest that picture.

How Quantum Science Helps You Build Your Dream Business

In 1902, two years after the physicist Max Planck first coined the term "quantum" to describe the core reality of light, a young British writer named James Allen penned a little book entitled As a Man Thinketh, which drew its title and its message from the biblical verse, "As a man thinketh in his heart, so he is." (Proverbs 23:7) At the time, few would have associated the two men and their work, but with the hindsight of a century's discoveries, we can now see the connection. While scientists spent the rest of the century pursuing the horizon set by pioneers such as Planck, Einstein, Bohr and Heisenberg, which would ultimately lead to discovery of the remarkable quantum world that has so radically transformed our understanding of reality, business philosophers like Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale and Bob Proctor worked to articulate its application to the practical world of human accomplishment.This idea, that our thoughts have a direct, causal impact on our reality, had been observed before, but it had always seemed like something that rational people couldn't buy into, an idea that created more questions than answers. Now science has given us that set of answers.
According to quantum science, what we used to consider "empty space" is not empty at all. In fact, the energy density of just one cubic centimeter of what science has dubbed this "zero point field" is about 1094 ergs-equivalent to ten thousand billion, billion, billion, billion times more energy than exists in all the matter of the known universe. And just as penetrating the heart of matter reveals that it is made of energy, penetrating the heart of energy itself has revealed that it, too, is composed of something else, best described as a field of information or pure consciousness.
When Victor Hugo said, "There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come," we now know that this was more than a metaphor. He may not have fully realized it at the time, but he was giving us a literal description of how reality works.
Thought is the most powerful force in the universe. Our thoughts are the controlling factor in what we manifest and create in our lives. The idea precedes the thing.
This is at the heart of how every successful business is created. It starts as a picture, an idea in one's mind, and before you know what has happened, you are living in it.
Science tells us that underlying what we know as the world is a field of pure consciousness, billions upon billions of times more powerful than any measurable energy, and that this field of absolute consciousness knows everything that happens, anywhere and everywhere in the universe, instantaneously and with absolute accuracy. This is not so different from the kind of descriptions people have given for millennia in their efforts to grasp the ultimate nature of our universal source, what some of us call God. Whatever you call it, the picture that emerges is of a world bounded by an infinitely large, omnipotent, omniscient intelligence, which lies behind everything in the phenomenal world as its source, author and ultimate destination.
This is the dream world we live in, you and I, and it is the clay from which you will shape and give life to your dream business.

By the time you're seventeen years old, you've heard "No, you can't," an average of 150,000 times. You've heard, "Yes, you can," about 5,000 times. That's thirty no's for every yes. That makes for a powerful belief of "I can't."
Most people view their own goals in the form of hopes or wishes. "I hope I succeed in this business," or, "I wish I would earn a million dollars . . ." Here is the rest of the unfinished thought, whether conscious or not, that usually lies after those three dots: ". . . but I bet I won't." The biggest obstacle to most people's goals has nothing to do with any external conditions or factors. It is this: they don't believe it will happen or that it can be done. If you don't believe it will happen, it is almost guaranteed that it won't. You simply cannot achieve a goal that you do not believe you can achieve, because those beliefs live in that part of the brain that is running the show, even though we typically are not aware of it.
Let's say you love your family very much, you place a high value on family, and one of your biggest goals in life is to have a rich, full family life-yet you also have a belief that the only way you can be truly successful and earn enough income to provide for your family is to work really, really hard. So what happens? You find yourself working eighty hours a week and never see your family. Why, because you don't value them? No, you value them, all right, but your beliefs have you captive on that eighty-hour track, like a hamster on a wheel.
Beliefs trump desires, every time.
If you have credit card debt and financial struggle in your life, lack of money is not the problem: it is only the symptom. Lack of money is simply the fruit. To find the cause, you need to look at the seed. The fruit will always match the seed. And the seed is your habits of thought.
Here's the problem: beliefs tend to be self-fulfilling. This is because habits are thousands of times stronger than desires. That is worth restating: not twice as strong, not even three times as strong, but thousands of times stronger. You may have the desire to increase your income tenfold, but if your habits of thought do not expect anything like that to occur, it will be next to impossible for it to happen; you will take no lasting, productive effort towards that goal. Why not? Because it is your habits, not your desires or other conscious thoughts, that run your actions.
This is one of the greatest discoveries of the past decade of neurological research: 96 to 98 percent of all of your behaviors are automatic. This is why we set goals, but don't reach them. Setting them is a function of the conscious mind. Reaching them is a function of the nonconscious mind.
