You have to learn something new every day before you die. That keeps you young! Enjoyed your lens.

Added this as a featured lens to my Paraprosdikian Sentences lens. You have several really good ones. This is a great lens that I really enjoyed. Angel Blessed.

I think I am on the good path! I am strating to see grey hairs (no, others are starting to see my gray hair. I don't, because it match well my ash blond color), I told my mom (who was completely shock to see me go around with some grey hair) that I won't dye them (unless for fun, to change my color). I just had my second kid at 41 (but I don't feel like I am that old, maybe I will regret in 10 years), my hubby is 10 years younger so I keep up. And I find myself much more attractive and sexy than I was 25 years ago (thanks to the upcoming high school reunion, I had to dig out my photo album and it was not nice!).

I think I am not too fearful of growing old. It's all in your head anyway

So I'm turning 21 in April, and I'm TERRIFIED of growing old... Its ridiculous, but I can't help it. Its not about the age itself, or the wrinkles, or frailty.. It has more to do with what I can't do, whats no longer acceptable to do, and what I'm expected to do.
As any human, I'm scared of change I guess.
    Anyways, loved your page :)
  • mayapearl Mar 9, 2011 @ 1:34 am | delete
Getting older is just wonderful, things that used to worry me so much when I was younger are not an issue anymore. I only do was is fun and can do daring things without worrying about being responsible! The best is yet to come.
love your lenses by the way, TU!
  • Ladymermaid Feb 14, 2011 @ 9:13 am | delete
I hope you don't mind a suggestion to move this lens into healthy living - aging. I think it suits that category.
  • Ladymermaid Feb 14, 2011 @ 9:13 am | delete
    Oh so wonderfully said :)
  • Tipi Oct 12, 2010 @ 12:46 pm | delete
Indeed, let the good times roll, you go girl! What a beautiful face, it shows all the joys of living and loving! I like the way you think!
  • grannysage Aug 20, 2010 @ 11:20 pm | delete
I'm on a raggededge roll today.Another great lens. I am enjoying being a crone and celebrate it. Why do we want to hide our wrinkles and grey hair. It is time that the elders are respected again instead of ridiculed. I liked Emerson's quote. Lensrolling this to Whispers of the Crone.
  • TerriLorah Jul 23, 2010 @ 12:36 am | delete
Love your lens! I work in a nursing home and boy some days death is always knocking on the door. But this is a great way to look at getting older.
  • Mike Jul 8, 2010 @ 2:08 pm | delete
Wow thanks and maybe folks should go back to school at age 40 for just 2 years and then again at age 60 ,,how about that a career change at 60 ..
  • foovay Jun 29, 2010 @ 10:08 pm | delete
I turned 51 the other day and I'm loving it. Okay, I don't have the non-stop energy I had at 20 and I can't go days without sleep but what was so good about that anyway? Now I've slowed down, I can sit down to rest and enjoy the sunset :D Great lens, great message, and I'm so glad you won the Sunshine Award!
  • RitaK Jun 29, 2010 @ 9:48 pm | delete
What a wonderful, fun lens! And you are so right on about ageing! I am enjoying life so much more, everyday is a new adventure. Congratulations on your winning the Charity Award!

Congratulations on winning the Sunflower Charity Award theraggededge. Yes, I agree that we should age gracefully and naturally... :)

I started my 40th decade by going skydiving, and so far my 40s have been the best years of my life. I'm not in the shape I was at 20, but I'm far wiser and more grounded. I think it's a good trade-off.
  • LoKackl Jun 17, 2010 @ 7:41 am | delete
Beautifully done! Congrats on your Sunshine, LOTD and purple star!! Wow! Squidoo's equivalent of The Triple Crown! Squid Angel Blessed and rolled to my humble International Womens Day (March 8).

  • best_intentions Jun 11, 2010 @ 3:52 pm | delete
My sweetie and I were just talking about this last night. I hope I make it to 80! We joke about how we want to grow old enough to be able to sneak up on each other at home and scare the livin' daylight out of ourselves! I love your attitude, and congrats on the award!
  • Pastiche Jun 11, 2010 @ 1:01 pm | delete
Who's afraid of old age? I've survived teenage years, childbirth, divorce, death, job loss, grey hairs, sagging body parts and menopause - aging seems like a natural high compared to all that! Love this lens, and congrats on your Sunshine award. I'm sharing this lens with sisters and others today.
  • Jun 11, 2010 @ 12:49 am | delete

Congratulation for your winning! Getting old is unavoidable, but as long as you have the spirit you'll stay young forever!
  • kimmanleyort Jun 10, 2010 @ 11:46 am | delete
What an inspiring lens for those of us getting older! Congratulations on LOTD and winning money for your charity. I do believe that learning something new every day is a great way to stay young.
  • janices7 Jun 10, 2010 @ 11:44 am | delete
What a great lens! I've really never cared much about numbers, but I must confess that when I hit the big 4-0, I did start to reflect a bit more on my purpose in life asking questions like "what have I done to make this world better?" Looks like you are doing a great job of that by raising money for the Womens Future Benefit charity. Congrats on winning the Sunshine Award!!!

One final thought. The weird thing about aging for me is the fact that I still feel like a teenager inside....if only this body of mine could keep up :)
  • The_Health_Lady Jun 10, 2010 @ 7:37 am | delete
Congratulations! I've never cared about numbers - whether it be age, weight or numbers in a bank book. It's how you act and feel & never get stuck in the "good ole days". Always stay current with fad, fashion and music & you can't help but stay young at heart, mind & soul.
Great lens for everyone over 20 to read, for soon they'll be old.
And this final word from Will Roogers - We could certainly slow the aging process down if it had to work its way through Congress.
  • Spook Jun 10, 2010 @ 7:09 am | delete
Just dropping by again to give my heartiest congrarulations on the sunshine award. Splendid and well done. I just love people with a sense of humour, although at times this ruins my marriage prospects. (winks)
  • WordCustard Jun 10, 2010 @ 2:56 am | delete
Congratulations! It's good to see the fun side of growing old. :)
  • BevsPaper Jun 9, 2010 @ 7:15 pm | delete
Well Bev this is just wonderful! Congratulations on the well deserved win! Love the suggestion to create "What if's" instead of "If onlys"! My family thinks I'm crazy because I want my gray hair to show. Listen I earned every one of those white hairs and I'm proud of 'em! There is wisdom and laughter and life in those old hairs. We share the same name and looks like the same outlook on life...Bravo Sister!
  • bechand Jun 9, 2010 @ 6:26 pm | delete

Congratulations on your award! I love my silver hairs - even if I do look like an ageing ginger spice with the growing-out henna!
  • KarateKatGraphics Jun 9, 2010 @ 2:24 pm | delete
what fun! congrats & terrific job!
  • HorseAndPony Jun 9, 2010 @ 1:33 pm | delete
Congratulations on your Summer Sunshine Award. You are such a wonderful writer. I have enjoyed reading every word of this lens. I always enjoy getting older. It seems to me that the years get better as I get older. It's always one exciting year after another. I started going grey/white when I was 17. I think it made it easier for me to have even more grey hair as I get older. Anyhow, blessed by The HorseAndPony Angel!
  • stargazer00 Jun 9, 2010 @ 1:11 pm | delete

Were those your grandkids up there? Said with heavy Australian twangy drawl. Thanks for the laughs and the blessings on my lenses. Feeling my age today, my little one is no longer a teenager.
  • theraggededge Jun 3, 2010 @ 11:37 am | delete
Nasty man! And I was going to marry you an' all! :-)
  • GonnaFly Jun 1, 2010 @ 5:13 pm | delete
Some interesting ideas here. I love the encouragement to keep learning. And I don't want to worry what people think but I don't want to be a cantankerous old fool either!
PS I think you look fabulous in your little avatar!
  • burgessvillian May 28, 2010 @ 5:58 am | delete
I am now 48 and I am still learning new stuff everyday. I don't think I'll jump out of a plane though. I share your beliefs about being just part of all that is. I also agree that we are not here to get the approval of anyone. As Dr. Wayne Dyer states "Be independent of the good opinion of other people. Great lens and good luck in the contest.
  • Heather426 May 27, 2010 @ 11:51 am | delete
love the attitude expressed here, although I am not embracing "oldness." but maybe "wisdom" if I have any....
  • OhMe May 26, 2010 @ 8:22 am | delete
This great lens is featured on my Squidoo Summer Sunshine Award Contest Nominees lens and I have nominated it for the contest. Good Luck!
