MiMi of GrowWear.com

Coming from an unfortunate childhood, I didn't know what life was all about. All I knew was that life sucked. Where is the order? What is my reason for being? Why don't I know it? Why am I so sad and angry?

I began looking for answers at age twenty. At 52, the journey continues. Now, though, I am able to look at a problematic situation and realize that somewhere in the messiness of it all is my lesson.

Motivational quotations have been along for the whole ride. I love them. They inspire me tremendously. GrowWear.com came into being because of my strong desire to help others similar to myself who have had a hard time growing up because of childhood neglect and who are now on a journey to find their reason for being.

GrowWear.com has brought me lots of joy and many opportunities for my growth. I am happy to display some of my products here and give you some background on why a particular quotation inspires me. In the process, I hope you are inspired as well.

Welcome!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

That Unfortunate Childhood

My two brothers and one sister and I suffered from child neglect. As a result, I have been battling depression all of my life. My sister is 15 months younger. I remember one day being under her crib. She was up there goo-gooing and gah-gahing -- blissfully happy sounds. I was three years old -- give or take a few months. This memory has stayed with me all these years because I can never forget that I lay under that crib wondering, "Why is she so happy?"

"My purpose at GrowWear.com is to help others with their personal-growth journey."

Who is MiMi?

When I wear my glasses, I have a rather teacherish look. As to comportment, my nephew says I remind him of Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus. That's cool with me. :)

I am on a spiritual journey. I love the simple things in life...time for a cup of coffee, time to enjoy my grandson, time to just be. My journey of personal growth started thirty years ago, and I am still on that trip and hoping it lasts forever. Well, yeah, forever — even through other dimensions!

It's OK to Be You

This quotation came about because of all of the people in the world who think they are better than others. My journey has taught me that we are all the same -- no Jaguar, no second home or any of that material stuff will ever change it. Wear a t-shirt with this proclamation and you convey your message of compassionate love for all. Give an It's OK to Be You magnet, pillow or mug to someone who is feeling down. It's guaranteed to raise their spirits for a long time to come. [It's OK to Be You home page]

Everybody is Somebody

Another quotation to promote your message of goodwill to your fellow beings. Like It's OK to Be You, this quotation came about because there is so much negative judgment of others in the world. It lets others know that we are all special just because we exist. [Everybody is Somebody home page]

Henry Ford Quotation

"Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right." This is the best selling design for all time at GrowWear. I believe it's because, in the truth department, it packs a wallop. We all know this is true deep down; we do set our own limitations, and this quotation is a great reminder that we can do more and be more. [Henry Ford quotation home page]

Play Animal

If you know me, you know I love children. This design, of course, is a take on Party Animal, but with the twist for kids and what they do best. I made my grandson one with fabric pens and decided to do one at GrowWear for other little kids. [Play Animal home page]

This touched my heart, perhaps because I've walked more than a couple of miles in similar shoes. Spending our adult lives making sure that other children don't have to walk those miles becomes important to many of us and helps us heal. I salute your journey and wish you the best success with your business.

Mimi, thank you for sharing your story. You really show everyone how to turn pain into art, an alchemy I, too, have sought in reading and by writing. Hope to see much more of you! I see I have much to learn from you! 5*s/lensroll, fav

I have been remiss in getting to this lens. Never had the foggiest idea it existed. I'm glad I came and found out more about you. Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right. I had to laugh, it made immediate sense. Wishing you all the best MiMi.
