MiMi of GrowWear.com
I began looking for answers at age twenty. At 52, the journey continues. Now, though, I am able to look at a problematic situation and realize that somewhere in the messiness of it all is my lesson.
Motivational quotations have been along for the whole ride. I love them. They inspire me tremendously. GrowWear.com came into being because of my strong desire to help others similar to myself who have had a hard time growing up because of childhood neglect and who are now on a journey to find their reason for being.
GrowWear.com has brought me lots of joy and many opportunities for my growth. I am happy to display some of my products here and give you some background on why a particular quotation inspires me. In the process, I hope you are inspired as well.
Welcome!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
That Unfortunate Childhood
"My purpose at GrowWear is to help others with their personal-growth journey."
Who is MiMi?
I am on a spiritual journey. I love the simple things in life...time for a cup of coffee, time to enjoy my grandson, time to just be. My journey of personal growth started thirty years ago, and I am still traveling and learning.
That's enough about me, don't you think? Well, OK, I will add a five-things list:
5 Things About Me
- I have an alter ego named Hepzibah. She comes out a lot when I play with my grandson. It just warms my heart that he will play with her as if she really were his little buddy.
- Coming from a chaotic childhood, I have to have lots of alone (recuperative) time after experiencing what may appear to an onlooker as a normal event. For instance, a trip to Wal-Mart.
- I wrote a letter to my dad 20 years ago telling him how disgusted I was with how he let his children be raised. It hurt him deeply. I have since realized that he did the best he could with four kids and a spoiled alcoholic wife. He was a good dad, and we did make up -- thankfully -- before he passed away.
- I saved my Gordon's Potato Chips bags for free entrance to the movies. I went to see King Kong. By myself. I was seven.
- I was so shy in the first grade that when the teacher didn't call out my name to bring up my lunch money for the week, as soon as I got to the bathroom, I flushed that dollar down the drain. (Don't know what I would have done if it had been four quarters!)

Mimi, thank you for sharing your story. You really show everyone how to turn pain into art, an alchemy I, too, have sought in reading and by writing. Hope to see much more of you! I see I have much to learn from you! 5*s/lensroll, fav

I have been remiss in getting to this lens. Never had the foggiest idea it existed. I'm glad I came and found out more about you. Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right. I had to laugh, it made immediate sense. Wishing you all the best MiMi.

I saw The Incredible Shrinking Man by myself when I was a youngster (not 7 though--I might have been 10). For different reasons than Mimi. I am one of the fortunate ones who had a reasonably happy childhood. I think living in the country made a big difference. I will enjoy reading more about Mimi's journey of personal growth.
