The Best of GTD Theory, Tips, Tricks and Hacks-- All in One Place!
Getting Things Done (GTD) has become a way of life for many people, but the ways to GTD are as varied as the multitude of people that practice it!
Here's a resource guide to the basic GTD sites, hack sites, supplies, systems, and virtual helpers. There are feeds to the best of the GTD bloggers, and
GTD as Explained by Wikipedia

Getting Things Done (commonly abbreviated as GTD) is a method created by David Allen, and described in a book of the same name. Both "Getting Things Done" and "GTD" are USPTO registered trademarks of the David Allen Company (numbers 2431583 and 3591195)."What is GTD?"
GTD rests on the principle that a person needs to move tasks out of the mind by recording them externally. That way, the mind is freed from the job of remembering everything that needs to be done, and can concentrate on actually performing those tasks.
David Allen and GTD, the Man and the Message
People say GTD has become like a cult or a religion. Whatever. Most people who are into GTD are REALLY into it.Getting Things Done is different things to different people, and that's exactly what it's supposed to be. The beauty of GTD is that it's whatever works for you.
GTD involves getting all the "stuff" out of your head, and into a reliable system that will remind you of the "stuff" at exactly the time you need to be reminded of it, in order to "get things done."
With all the "stuff" out of your head, your mind is freed up to reach even higher levels of productivity and creativity. Zen-ish, but cool. And addictive.

How About Some Virtual Assistance?
UPDATE: First Jott starting charging for its services, and after a several-day-long hissy fit, I decided to pony up. Then, I had to endure the loss of my personal assistant Sandy and her sidekick app Stikkit when Rael Dornfest and his company powers of n got scooped up by Twitter.
- Jott Official Site
- Jott.com: Free voice to text service. I still love and adore Jott-- but it's not my perky Sandy. It doesn't put things on my calendar, and it doesn't integrate with my life like Sandy did. Perhaps I will have to give Remember the Milk a whirl.

- Values of n brings an iconoclastic approach to social software design. We're throwing out the well-worn assumptions about how applications are supposed to work, and are instead paying attention to the clever ways in which people have adapted software to fit their needs. These workarounds usually contain the seeds of a better solution.

Parent Hacks collects actual parents' tips, recommendations, workarounds, and scrappy ideas -- their hacks -- in a single bucket. Here's the stuff that would have been left out of the instruction manual...if there were one. We're not experts. We're just out there, raising our kids, finding the little tweaks that make this crazy adventure go a little more smoothly.- Lifehacker, tips and downloads for getting things done
- Lifehacker, the software and productivity guide, is a blog that covers tips and tricks for streamlining your life with computers (and sometimes without). - OMG, I remember 20 yrs. ago when it was a lot simpler GTD! And, I've known some coworkers who had journals of notes much like "Michael Bierut's Notebooks." Once upon a time, I was able to get my A, B, and C lists accomplished in a timely fashion. Now, with the internet and computers I need to make a concerted effort to focus. Oh, I'm getting lots accomplished, but keep asking is it WHAT I want to accomplish?

- GTD has completely transformed my life and has made me remarkably more productive and much more stress free.
Setting up my GTD system took some effort and perseverance but it has paid off nicely.
I am also glad we are starting to have BlackBerry tools like Viira (http://www.kartamobile.com) to help make GTD more mobile. I use it on my BlackBerry all the time to extend my GTD system beyond my workspace/home office.
