But what can you do?

Well it's not that easy to change habits, especially when we enjoy the habits we have. But sometimes we can change, when we see that it will do us - or our communities some good. So try a few of these quick tips:

1. Walk more. Just choose to walk, not drive to the shops. Cuts down fuel consumption, eases the carbon footprint
2. Buy and ride a bike. When it's too far to the shops just use the bike. Replacing just one trip a week with a bike ride will help the environment and give you some exercise!
3. Plant a tree. Find a good spot in your yard and choose a tree that's suitable in size for the long term
4. Buy a smaller car. Just go down one size - by volume or weight - and start saving on gas used. You don't need to go to extremes, but just thinking smaller will get you started
5. Don't junk your old stuff, keep it working! It may be nice to have new stuff but it's also wasteful. Why not adapt the old analogue TV to work with new digital gear?
