Guess (the designer brand) is a U.S. premium designer brand that creates a wide range of fashion attire and fashion accessories in particular Guess purses and handbags.

The company was founded in the U.S.A. in the early 1980's and was setup by four brothers who originated from the Cote D'Azur in Southern France.

The Marciano siblings always had a fascination with the way of life on America's West Coast and moved to California in the late 1970's. Showing both their admiration of classic Americana with a European flair the brothers very quickly detected an opportunity in the fashion world.

Towards the end of the seventies, denim was considered old-fashioned and far from it's popularity of the 1950's and 1960's. The Marciano brothers had designed a brand new style and design of jeans identified as the Marilyn. This 3 zip style was not appreciated by the fashion writers or retail stores and it was only after a lot of negotiations were the Marciano siblings able to get a sample order with the Bloomingdales store. Still then the store only agreed to stock 24 pairs of jeans and even this was done as more of a favour than a strictly business decision.. Shortly after displaying the stock for sale Bloomingdales had sold out and a brand-new fashion star was born in the eyes of the world.

Over time this company have integrated more fashion accessories to their clothing brand and Guess handbags are now one of the various fashion accessories this company now creates.Proving to be very successful these handbags add a real touch of sassy fashion sense to any women's wardrobe.

Recently the business has changed into making accessories for the home, perfumes and timepieces and the firm appears to be going from success to success.
