Guild Wars 2 Warrior

Ranked #3,442 in Games, #143,376 overall

It would be impossible to have Guild Wars 2, a free online multiplayer rpg, without the warriors. Warriors (the most bassic profession in Guild Wars 2 )are the backbone of every adventuring party. They are the masters of most of the available weapons and heavy armor. Strength, endurance, stamina, speed and high level weapon skill are the traits which ensure a high survivability in a battle. A warrior can take a lot of punishment before he can be defeated, he is the first person charging into battle, he will be the one who will keep all the enemies occupied so they wont attack his allies and lastly he will be the one who will end the battle.

Every Guild Wars 2 race can have a warrior, but someone would say that only Norn and Charr are really effective on that role. Well time will tell.

Guild Wars 2 Warrior

Warriors use adrenaline in a battle. It is what fuels their powerful attacks. They start a fight without adrenaline, and then build one strike of adrenaline with every attack they make. They have three stages of adrenaline that take increasing amounts of strikes to fill - or they can release their stored adrenaline with a burst skill.

Adrenaline makes the warrior more powerful, increasing passively his damage output with every attack while powering up his burst skill. Different weapon sets have different and unique burst skills which a warrior can activate by spending all his adrenaline at once to unleash a devastating attack.

The burst skill can be used at any time, but the more adrenaline stages he has filled, the more devastating his attack will be.
Burst skills have different results and they can vary from doing more damage, adding additional conditions (such as bleeding or deep wound),
increasing condition duration, or increased skill duration.

Warrior Weapons

Guild Wars 2 Warrior

A warrior can use 9 different weapons . He can combine any of the nine weapons available to him in 19 different ways. Those weapons are :

Main Hand: Sword, Axe, Mace

Offhand: Shield, Warhorn, Sword, Axe, Mace

Two-Handed: Greatsword, Hammer, Longbow, Rifle

Warriors can change between 2 different weapon sets during combat. Unfortunately or fortunately this can not happen too often because there is a cool down after every change.
Each weapon serves a different role, allowing the warrior to customize his play style. Each main hand weapon can be combined with all the other weapons or items included in the list above, except of course the two handed weapons.

GW2 Warrior

Swords provide to a warrior speed. Do not expect to inflict high damage blows with a sword. Spreading bleeding and deep wounds among the enemies is another task of a sword warrior.

Axes are just a bit slower than the swords. They help the warrior build adrenaline faster than any other weapon so he can unleash his devastating attacks. The default damage of an axe is higher than a sword so during combat an axe warrior can cause a lot of pain.

A hammer warrior can be a pain in the neck for anyone foolish enough to confront him. He can knockdown his enemies with his mighty hammer blows plus he can inflict area damage hurting multiple targets at the same time. Also, hammers have the highest default base damage, although they are the slowest weapons to wield.

GW2 Warrior

A mace warrior disrupts his enemies with powerful stunning attacks leaving them vulnerable to further attacks.

Warriors using a greatsword use its momentum to deliver sweeping area effect damage attacks while fighting around the battlefield.

In Guild Wars 1 warriors used longbows to pull single enemies and break huge enemy mobs and defeat them easier. Now in Guild Wars 2 the developers took it a few steps further. They ve made the longbow an offensive weapon adding some significant damage to every attack. So now the warriors can shoot fire arrows to a mob of enemies and inflict a lot of area damage.

Rifles are a totally new concept. I do not know how much damage they can inflict but their role is described as weapons to pull single enemies and finish off fleeing enemies. I am really curious to see it in action.

Warrior skill types

GW2 Warrior

Except the usual attack skills Warriors have a number of special skill types:

Stances are skills which can be turned on and off whenever the warrior desires to. During activation the stance consumes a small amount of energy and while it is on it keeps draining energy but the benefits worth the draining.

Chains are a set of 3 skills put together and they consume only one skill slot. This is really, really great news. This will ensure a better gameplay.

Banners give to the warrior and his allies offensive or defensive bonuses. A banner can be picked up and carried around the battlefield where the next conflict is taking place, because it affects only a small area, or it can be plugged in the ground so the warrior can keep fighting.

Shouts affect a large area and give various buffs to the warrior and his allies or debuff to the nearby enemies.

Charge Skills can be held down to power them up for more impressive attacks. Different levels of power can be released depending how long the skill was held down.

Final Notes

Guild Wars 2 Warrior

Some gaming experts advise young rpg gamers to play as warriors during their first steps because it is easier for them. I totally disagree on that idea. A bad warrior can kill his entire party just as easily as there would be no warrior at all. A bad warrior can destroy a good experience for everyone else. It takes time, dedication and deep understanding of the weapons, their roles and above all the skills to play effectively as a warrior. He/she has to know by heart what every skill does and why it must be used and where to put himself and who to attack during a fight. I could go on and on about this but I ll stop it here. Playing as a warrior it isnt easy and a lot of times can be frustrating.

I play as a warrior most of my gaming life and I can assure you that warriors can do wonders if someone knows how to use them right. Their heavy armor and their devastating skills can ruin someone's day. Their only weakness is their strength. Meaning, in order to hit something they have to go close to it or be able to see it right? So slowing or blinding or weakening spells can make a warrior worthless.

I like the lens but I don't like these Warriors (LOL). You know me by now, I like nice, cute puzzle and action games. I'm sure that this game is quite an adventure.

PS. You might want to check the spelling in the comment module. There are a couple of small errors. I can't help myself with this spelling thing. :)
