Guitar Hero Guitars

Guitar Hero, in all it's many incarnations, is one of the most popular music video games out there. The game is played by using a Guitar Hero Guitar Or controller and attempting to hit notes as they scroll towards the bottom of the screen. You must play the notes in time with the music in order to score points.

Types of Guitar Hero Guitars

There are a number of types of official Guitar Hero guitars or controllers that are available, either wired or wireless.

As well, you can actually create your own controller from a regular guitar (see below more more information)

Some of the controllers available include:

1. Guitar Hero III Wireless Kramer Striker for PS2 (Black)

2. Guitar Hero Wireless Controller for PS2 (White)

3. Guitar Hero X-plorer Wired Controller for Xbox 360 (White)

4. Guitar Hero SG Wired Controller for PS2 (Black)

New wireless controllers shaped like the ever-popular Gibson Les Paul (PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360) and Kramer (PlayStation 2) models were released with Guitar Hero 3. These controllers have detachable faceplates that allow players to personalize their guitar.

The new guitars also feature detachable necks for easy transport.

When deciding on which controller to purchase, keep in mind that you must purchase a guitar for the gaming system that you are using i.e. PlayStation, Xbox or Wii.

How Do You Play a Guitar Hero Guitar

Playing notes on a Guitar Hero guitar consists of pressing the correct fret button (no there are not as many buttons as there are frets/strings on a real guitar - there are only five) and strumming the strum bar (there is only one place to strum not six strings like a guitar). You can sustain notes by holding down the button and you can also play chords by holding multiple buttons down simultaneously. You can also simulate hammer-ons and pull-offs (on a real guitar, you do this by plucking the first note and then hammering down a note or pulling off to another note with the left-hand only).

Create Your Own Guitar Hero Controller

It is possible to take a standard guitar and modify it to become a Guitar Hero controller. If you are brave, and have a guitar that you don't mind hacking up, then here is how you can create your own Guitar Hero Contoller.

Please don't do this with your vintage 58 Strat!

Guitar Hero Skins

A skin is a vinyl design that one can place on their Guitar Hero controller. These skins are easily applied and are removable. Similar to skins for cell phones or various software programs, skins provide a level of customization so that you can more fully express yourself.
