Guitar Hero III:
Legends of Rock Bundle

If you love classic rock or just want to be an aspiring guitar rock star, guitar hero iii for xbox will be a lot of fun. It's been very difficult to find it for xbox 360 and nintendo wii this december due to the Christmas season rush.
There is both the guitar hero 3 wireless version as well as wired version. The wireless version gives one more freedom to move around but there is also a ten foot cable one can purchase for the wired version to have more ability to jump, dance and rock with the guitar.
The selections include classics like Paint it Black by the Stones and Sabotage by the Beastie Boys. The game has an easy mode so one can feel a sense of accomplishment and quickly advances through other level
It would be great if there was Stairway to Heaven by Zepplin or My Guitar Gently Weeps by the Beatles but maybe they will be in future editions. Not all the songs have a natural pull for people on guitar hero iii and the other issue is that the hard level is very difficult and can be frustrating.

Guitar Hero Encore:
Rocks the 80's

In the wireless version with the Les Paul guitar the face plates are removable and customizable. There are real guitar techniques such as hammer-on notes which are widely used in rock, blues and folk guitar songs.
You'll need to master the relation of single notes, chords as well as the long notes and this requires good hand to eye co-ordination. This is definitely better than shoot em up games for the challenges it gives to you and the rush of being a rock guitar player. The key is to practice and to not give up when you fall behind the rock meter.

"The gameplay is GHIII is fantastic (The Boss Battles in career mode are a little silly, but they are thankfully optional). The track list is awesome and the songs are extremely well implemented and fun to play.
The wireless controller included in this PS2 bundle, however, is a big step backwards from the wired SG controllers bundled with GH I and II. I have experienced several random drops in response from the green and yellow buttons (not due to proximity from the receiver, I was less than four feet from the console). The buttons just stopped working. Also, the whammy bar is much closer to the strum bar, and my fingers on my strumming hand kept getting caught in it. Finally, the tilt sensor on my controller only worked intermittently, which was doubly frustrating because they moved to start and pause buttons directly behind the whammy bar, so the alternate method of triggering "Star Power" (hitting the start button) is almost impossible because you have to take your strumming hand off of the strum bar and bring it up and over the whammy bar. I'm returning the bundle and buying the stand-alone GHIII game, and I'm ordering a wired GH2-style controller directly from Red Octane."

Guitar Hero - For the Young and Old

Guitar Hero III:
Legends of Rock Bundle

I had heard about Guitar Hero III from my 14 year old son and his music teacher, and being a guitar player myself, the concept sort of frightened me at first. I've seen all kinds of music "games" and learn to play this and that in the next thirty days, and almost without exception, most are a complete joke, a waste of money, and usually not any fun.
My opinion started to change earlier this summer. My son and his friends were listening to Black Sabbath and Rush emanating from the living room. Curious, I stepped into the living room to see my son sitting on the couch, plastic guitar in hand, jamming along to some of the greatest songs of my youth. Music I NEVER would have imagined him enjoying, let alone ever being exposed to. So I asked him to let me try it. Wow... I was totally taken.
I'm not advocating that Guitar Hero will make you an Eric Clapton... but it certainly can help to instill a better sense of rhythm. Also keep in mind that playing the game is unlike playing an actual guitar. The greatest thing about Guitar Hero III, other than it being a complete blast to play, is that it exposes today's youth to dozens of examples of good music, from a time and place when actual talent was required to be a musician.

We have found a way to use a real guitar during Guitar Hero play. You will need: 1. Xbox 360 Controller 2. 4 Wires cut at 2-3 feet each 3. Soldering Iron (or electrical tape) 4. Real Guitar Disclaimer: This and other videos produced by Household Hacker are controlled experiments performed by professionals and unless you are an expert should NOT be attempted at home if you don't know what you are doing!

Guitar Hero is a music video game developed by Harmonix Music Systems and published by RedOctane for the PlayStation 2 video game console. It is the first entry in the Guitar Hero series. Guitar Hero was released on November 8, 2005 in North America, April 7, 2006 in Europe and June 15, 2006 in Australia. The game's development was a result of collaboration between RedOctane and Harmonix to bring a GuitarFreaks-like game to America.
The game features a guitar-shaped controller (resembling a miniature Gibson SG) that the player uses to simulate the playing of rock music. The gameplay is similar to GuitarFreaks, in that the player presses buttons on the guitar controller in time with musical notes that scroll on the game screen. The game features covers of 30 popular rock songs spanning five decades of rock, from the 1960s up through 2005, in addition to bonus tracks. Guitar Hero became a surprise hit, earning critical acclaim and winning many awards from major video game publications. Th...
