As a learner myself I've put together some of the guitar tabs that I found easy to learn with no teacher, only one (who was unwilling to help) friend who plays guitar and nothing but the entire internet to find easy stuff to play. So heres some stuff I recommend. Most are easy enough.

Tablatures (Tabs) is the most common way for guitar to be represented on paper or online; learning to read it is one of the first steps to learning to play guitar yourself.

Real songs for newbies
If you've never played a guitar properly before and can simply read the guitar tabs and know some of the basic terminology then your well on your way to playing one of your first real, proper rock songs. Bellow is a list of the first songs I learn to play on my guitar; if there is a certain bit that is simple to learn then I'll point out which bit you should have a go at.
- Smoke On The Water (DEEP PURPLE)
- This was the very first think I learnt to play and is extremely simple. This is only the intro and if you listen to the song then you can play along with it fairly easily.
- Seven Nation Army (WHITE STRIPES)
- One of the simplest and most recognisable tabs there is. Extremely simple, took me all of 2 minutes to master it.
