Guitar? What is it?

Before learning the guitar chords and guitar tabs, let us first define and review a bit what Guitar is.

The guitar is a musical instrument with ancient roots that is used in a wide variety of musical styles. It typically has six strings, but four, seven, eight, ten, and twelve string guitars also exist.Guitars are recognized as one of the primary instruments in blues, country, flamenco, rock music, and many forms of pop. There is also a solo classical instrument. Guitars may be played acoustically, where the tone is produced by vibration of the strings and modulated by the hollow body, or they may rely on an amplifier that can electronically manipulate tone.

Strumming, plucking and licking

Strumming

In order to make your guitar sound is that you should strike the strings gently where a little force applied to it. You can have a downstroke or an upstroke or a combination, downstroke-upstroke.

Also in strumming, just like with the other instrument guitar also follows some beat. Just like a 2/4 beat, 3/4 beat or the way a chord should be strike.

Plucking/Licking

In order to pluck the guitar string, do not move the entire finger. Move only the top half of the finger from the large knuckle to the finger tip. When plucking with the thumb, however, the entire thumb moves.

When you first start with the fingerstyle technique, the fingernails should be short and neatly clipped.

A guitar lick is an improvised solo, a musical phrase, or a part of a melody.Guitar licking improves your guitar skills and technique. You can also try changing the tonality, the rhythm, and the position.

What does Guitar Tabs means?

Wikipedia defines that:

uitar Tabs (or Tabulature) is a form of musical notation, which tells players where to place their fingers on a particular instrument rather than which pitches to play.

Guitar Tablature is mostly (but not exclusively) seen for fretted stringed instruments, in which context it is usually called tab for short (except for lute tablature). It is frequently used for the guitar, bass, lute, archlute, theorbo, angélique, mandora, gallichon, and vihuela, but in principle it can be used for any fretted instrument, including ukulele, mandolin, banjo, and viola da gamba, as well as many free reed aerophones such as the harmonica. While today tablature is commonly used in notating rock and pop music, it is often seen in folk music, and was in fact common during Renaissance and Baroque eras. (In the context of guitar tab, standard musical notation is usually called 'staff notation' - even though tab is also written on a staff - or just 'notation').

As you practice playing guitar, later on you'll notice that somehow you and your guitar become 'one'. Then as you learn how to strum, pluck, lick and familiarize the guitar chords
you are now ready to play a song.
There are two ways of acquiring the chords of a song by ear or a written copy. This time if you chose to get a certain chords or tabs of a song by ear then so must listen to the music and carefully find out what chords is being used. This way is simple if you are able to know the tunes of each chord, the high and low point of a certain note.
