One of the ways that Eben Pagan has moved Internet marketing of information products forward is with the concept of "moving the freeline".

This means that he gives away more solid content, for free, before the launch than is normal.

It is an approach I like since it means that you will gain from any contact with Eben Pagan and his ideas.

If you're interested in selling eBooks or other "Information Products" online, then here are a few tips to make sure you make the most money:

1) Choose a niche where customers have a VERY strong EMOTIONAL NEED.

Why do most eBooks and other Information Products fail - and leave the author with nothing to show for their effort but wasted time?

Because they selected their niche or their topic based on what they themselves were INTERESTED in rather than what people were LOOKING FOR.

If you want to make money with your eBook or other Information Product, then you must choose a niche that is loaded with buyers who are EMOTIONAL about their need.

Not "interested."

EMOTIONAL.

If they're not feeling a strong emotional drive to solve a problem or get their desire, then they won't be motivated to BUY from you.

2) NARROW your niche - don't "widen" your niche.

Another reason why most eBooks and Information Products fail is because the author or creator wasn't thinking like a CUSTOMER.

Customers don't like to buy things that will fix all their problems.

They like to buy things that will fix their ONE BIG problem.

A woman who is 30 pounds overweight - who wants to get in shape for her wedding in three months...doesn't want a book about "general health."

NO WAY.

She wants a book called "The Bride's Guide To Losing Weight: How To Lose 10-30 Pounds In Under 90 Days."

Most of the time in life, it's not wise to be "Narrow Minded." When you're choosing your niche or creating a product, IT IS.

3) Create a high "Perceived value" report or video - and then GIVE IT AWAY.

As the internet becomes more and more "noisy" - and customers have more and more options... and therefore more and more confusion...it's important to CUT THROUGH THAT NOISE.

The best way to do it?

Create something valuable, then GIVE IT AWAY.

Yes, I said give it away.

And don't just give away any old information.

No. You're going to want to create a report, video, teleclass, or other product - and make it about your BEST STUFF.

Don't save your "good stuff" for last. Give it away up front!

When your prospective customer comes to your website and gets something that's very, VERY valuable from you for free - they will then say to themselves...

"If this is the stuff they're giving away, then the product they're selling must be GREAT."

That's why you give away your BEST stuff for free up front (and make sure you ask your prospective customers to opt-in to your email list in order to get your free product!).

More Guru Home Study Bonuses

I take a contrarian view on bonuses for these big product launches based on my own experience.

I have bought stuff which is packed with extra goodies because I've been driven by greed - more is good, right?

But not necessarily.

I have always liked Rich Schefren's quote "since when is more the answer to having too much"

I have a back bedroom full of boxes I've bought and my hard disk is also packed with things that seemed like a good idea at the time.

But how many have I looked at?

Very few but they nag away at my subconscious mind, creating guilt and distracting me.

These extra bonuses have not had the beneficial effect I was expecting but a negative effect.

If you want to sell information products, in Guru Home Study you have a massive course and Eben is providing you with two extra bonuses.

Go bonus hunting and you are likely to be getting more reasons for delay, procrastination and confusion.

My sincere advice is to keep it simple and don't clutter your life with stuff that you will never look at or use. I really believe I would be doing you a disservice by throwing in extra stuff that may contradict what Eben Pagan is saying in the Guru Home Study.

The is a time for learning - but you get paid by taking action and anything that delays your action is detrimental. You would be better watching the Guru Home Study resources twice than getting more stuff.

Freebies That I Do Recommend

I have been thinking about what I could offer - I don't want to appear mean - but you are better going to the experts.

What Do We Know About The Guru Home Study Price

The Guru Home Study Course is based on the Guru Mastermind coaching and Eben charged $6,000 to $12,000 for that depending on which option was taken.

At the end of the What is Guru Home Study video, Eben has indicated that the Guru Home Study course will be significantly cheaper than the original Guru Mastermind.

What I Speculate About The Guru Home Study Cost

The question is, what is significantly cheaper?

If is a reduction of 50% then that would position Guru Home Study at the $2,997 level and Eben is emphasising just how much content you will get for your money.

I think the price will be a bit less looking at the recent Internet launches so we will probably see the launch at $2,497 or even $1,997 on the single pay option (both Mass Control 2.0 and Product Launch Formula 2.2 have gone out at this level so far in 2009)

Update on Price

The price of the Guru Home Study program has been confirmed at $1,997 although there is an upsell into joining the 12 month Guru Mastermind program which costs considerably more.

Eben sent out a recording of an interview with Frank Kern about the Guru Home Study and Frank challenged him to reveal something special.

Eben explained that there are ten different frameworks for designing information products included in the training but he thinks this is the most powerful.

There are four different learning styles which mimic the individual's teaching styles and you need to learn how to cater for each style. Just go with your own and you may miss connecting with 70% to 80% of the market.

1 - why learning style

These people want to know why so you need to motivate by explaining what's in it for them.

2 - what learning style

These people want to know the what - the theories, the concepts and the history of the ideas.

3 - how learning style

These people want clear action steps and specific procedures to follow. They will work through the why and what training provided they believe the "how" will be answered later.

4 - what if learning style

These people want to take immediate action - what if I went out and did something straight away - so you need to be clear on what they can do quickly.

If you cover all bases - the why, the what, the how and the what if, 100% of people will be able to relate to your training.

It is an idea that can also be used in all your communications.

Interesting stuff isn't it and this is just a tiny fraction of what you will learn in the Guru Home Study course.
