Yes, Real Men Do Wear Eyeliner and Makeup!
When I decided to pick a fight on MonkeyBrain I wanted it to be a little bit quirky and lots of fun... I know you've got an opinion about guys who wear eyeliner, so add your 2 cents to the debate! Is it hot or not?
My inspiration for this lens was Jared Leto, who I adore, admire and respect, with or without the eyeliner. Jared is very, well lets face it, beautiful. He is the singer and songwriter for the band, 30 Seconds to Mars and a very talented actor. He wears makeup, sometimes lots of makeup, especially black eyeliner, but he has been known to get a little crazy once in a while with the color too.

Men have worn eyeliner since before written history. It only went out of style during the two World Wars, because no one could afford it any more. Today we got used to the after effects of the war and the make-upless men that resulted from it.
As for me, I'm glad to see men becoming old fashioned once again, and bringing back the look.
Hey... it's called "Gothic" for a reason... Gothic was a period in history: 1300 - 1600, people today who try to mimic that era in any form are considered Gothic, and mimicing the makeup of the era is just one way of bringing back the "old fashioned" look.
I spent years studying fashion history, partly because I love the way men used to dress and hate the way most "average" men dress today. Loving old fashioned men and all their long hair, ruffled lace cloths, and makeup!

- Guyliner = Yes. I wear it, I'm not gay, and I feel that any man who feels that they can pull it off should! I can't tell you how many compliments I've got about my eyes when I wear it. The word "delicious" comes up frequently... alittle strange, yes, but I'll take it!

- I attended the American Idol concert this week and David Cook was REALLY sporting the guyliner!! It was so bad that it was actually running down his face slightly. I still didn't like the way he looked with it, but he rocked the house down. He was awesome and so was my favorite idol, David Archuleta. (David A. of course was guyliner-free, thank goodness!)
