Let's see, old fashioned men:

in the 1890's through 1920's no man of high status was seen with out his eyeliner, and heaven forbin ANY male actor was seen on screen without it!

1100's - 1890's Japan... men and women alike wore eyeliner

1300's - 1600's most of Europe was caked in white powder and black eye khol

Is there a point in French history when men didn't wear eyeliner?

ancient Egypt, Babylon, and Persia --- is 3,000 BC old fashioned enough? LOL! in these era eyeliner was worn by rich and commoner alike!

Men have worn eyeliner since before written history. It only went out of style during the two World Wars, because no one could afford it any more. Today we got used to the after effects of the war and the make-upless men that resulted from it.

As for me, I'm glad to see men becoming old fashioned once again, and bringing back the look.

Hey... it's called "Gothic" for a reason... Gothic was a period in history: 1300 - 1600, people today who try to mimic that era in any form are considered Gothic, and mimicing the makeup of the era is just one way of bringing back the "old fashioned" look.

I spent years studying fashion history, partly because I love the way men used to dress and hate the way most "average" men dress today. Loving old fashioned men and all their long hair, ruffled lace cloths, and makeup!
