When I decided to pick a fight on MonkeyBrain I wanted it to be a little bit quirky and lots of fun... I know you've got an opinion about guys who wear eyeliner, so add your 2 cents to the debate! Is it hot or not?
My inspiration for this lens was Jared Leto, who I adore, admire and respect, with or without the eyeliner. Jared is very, well lets face it, beautiful. He is the singer and songwriter for the band, 30 Seconds to Mars and a very talented actor. He used to wear makeup, lots of makeup, especially black eyeliner, but he has been known to get a little crazy once in a while with the color too.

Depends on the man, the setting and their age. Just as some women need to tone down their makeup as they get older, I would think that some men would need to stop wearing guyliner when they get older. I would really rather not see old footage of Sir Alec Guiness in guyliner or Sir Sean Connery in guyliner, but OMG Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow is HOT in guyliner!

I can see it for movies or band performances because it's done mostly for affect. However, cool on stage becomes creepy off stage.
Example: Aerosmith looks cool on stage with tons of liner. Put any of them in a classroom, or office, and they would look out of their element and, quite frankly, creepy.

- I think it really depends on who the guy is and the context in which it is worn. I.e. Johnny Depp in Pirates manages to pull it off brilliantly - it's just part of his look. On the other hand, Adam Whatshisface from American Idol just looks incredibly silly, like he's trying too hard.

- ... Why? It may not look good or make sense, but it isn't WRONG. In many ancient cultures, men wore more makeup more often than the women. They would wear it to war or to signify status. What's "wrong" about that? Are warriors not manly enough for ya?
That's like saying that men wearing skirts is wrong - but tell that to a person wearing a ceremonial kilt.

- Being a teen in London in the 70's and 80's guys in makeup were pretty much the norm in my crowd (mainly Kohl). I think guys (most anyway) look great wearing eye-liner and lets not forget the nail varnish!
