The Call of Nature

The most important thing about your haiku poem is that it involve nature, and in particular, a season. The season can be implied directly such as-

cruel winter's chill..
OR
soothing summer breeze

or by way of association-

baseball has begun.. (spring)
OR
bodies line the beach (summer)

One of the more popular methods to wriite a haiku poem is that the first line introduce the particular season. In the haiku poem examples in this lense my first line usually sets the scene(the season) and the next two lines describe an event in that scene.

But we're getting ahead of ourselves. A little history in pictures is in order.
