Hair Loss Treatment

Hair Loss Treatment varies depending on the reason of hair thinning or balding. Fortunately there are several ways on how to treat hair loss for men. Some requires permanent surgical procedures while other has to be a part of the affected person's daily regimen. Different kinds of hair loss treatments have also different prices. Surgical treatments are usually far more expensive than the products you can buy over the counter but visible results can be seen much faster.

3 Types of Hair Loss Treatment for Men

Below are some of the most common Hair Loss Treatment for men experiencing this distressing hair dilemma.

1. If there are oral medications that cause the hair to fall out, there are also oral medications that would counter hair fall. Pills having an active ingredient called Finasteride, is one of the most effective treatment for hair loss among men. It used to be a medication taken only by men having enlarged prostate glands. It is also a drug recommended by the American Hair Loss Association for men who wanted to treat early signs of baldness. It acts by lowering the levels of the dihydrotestosterone - a male hormone that shrinks the hair follicles causing hair loss or total baldness. One milligram of Finasteride can improve hair growth by 50% if taken daily. However, Finasteride have some possible altered effects including loss of interest in sex, lower sperm count or impotence. It is best to consult a doctor specialized in hair loss before taking Finasteride.

2. Minoxidil is a popular alternative when it comes to treating hair loss for men, as well as women. It may come in pill form or liquid form. The use of Minoxidil as a cure for hair loss was only a serendipity. For many years, pill form Minoxidil is just an effective medication for people suffering from high-blood pressure and hair growth was only a side effect. But nowadays, Minoxidil products are usually in liquid form. The balding man has to rub on the scalp, a prescribed amount of Minoxidil, twice a day to create faster results. Products with this active ingredient do not need a doctor's prescription. But if there are no apparent results after using Minoxidil within six months, one must discontinue using it. Excessive amount of Minoxidil may cause irritation on the scalp and follicles.

3. These mentioned products are inexpensive and there no guarantees as to when a user can see noticeable outcome. On the other hand, there are surgical procedures that can be done for balding men. This involves large amount of money and sometimes, pain. Surgical procedures such as hair transplantation, scalp reduction, flaps, and tissue expansion are some of the most sought after surgeries when it comes to hair loss treatment for men. Men who wish to undergo any of these surgeries must allocate a budget starting from $3000 to $10,000. It may be quite expensive but you may be able to see faster results rather than using topical creams or anti-hair loss pills. Make sure that you would discuss this with a professional doctor to know which of these procedures is right for you.
