Learn about the technique that Dr Simmons uses to transplant hair
Dr. Simmons believes that FUT (Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation) provides the most natural looking results for his patients. Follicular Units are groups of between one and three (sometimes even more) hair follicles.
There are two options for procuring follicular units:
FUT is more reliable, more cost effective, and more efficient than FUE, although there may be specific circumstances where FUE may have advantages.
FUI is renowned as the premier method.
After complete anesthetism is acheived, a thin, long strip is removed from the donor area. The bare strip of skin is then sutured together. The resultant thin scar (1-2mm) is easily hidden, even with short hair.
The harvested strip is then cut into follicular unit grafts using microscopic technology. This ensures that there is no damage done to the follicules, and that the best quality grafts are selected to ensure the optimum chance of survival.
Microscopic holes are then in the anesthetized recipient area, and the grafts are introduced into the holes.
There will be no noticeable scarring in the recipient area, and as the hair begins to grow, you will regain your natural looking hair.
