I found an interesting article in an old magazine with instructions on how to make a glitter hair ornament using ribbon and sequins.

How to Make

Simply cut different lengths of ribbon and fold each in half end to end. Overlap and stitch together across the top. Then glue the ribbon to the back of a hair comb. Decorate with sequins randomly placed on the length of each ribbon strip and set a row of sequins across the top to hide sewing stitches.

Variations

There are many variations that could be made from this one simple idea. These could be used as hair inserts or extensions by attaching one or more ribbon lengths to small clips and set around your hair. The ribbon could be bright colours or pastels, try netting for an invisible look. Attach sequins with a dab of glue or use beads or glass. A wonderful way to recycle broken or old jewelry.
