Easy Updo For Short to Medium Hair

This is a quick cheat for creating an easy classic hairstyle for medium length or short hair.

Hairbun Steps 1 - 6

Step 1
Make a ponytail.
I like to use those fat "damage free" elastics in brown. If your hair is darker you may want to pick up the black ones.

Step 2
Slide sock bun over elastic.
If you don't know what this is check out my How To Make A Sock Bun tutorial below.

Step 3
Fan hair around sock bun.
You can use your fingers for this. But if you like a sleek finish or have thick hair you may want to use a comb or brush.

Step 4
Tuck hair around and under the sock bun foundation.
I roll and tuck as my hand slides around the sock bun.

Step 5
Secure ends.
You can use bobby pins. But I prefer using another elastic band. It's quicker and my ends thank me for it. My hair hates this funky balls at the end of metal bobby pins.

Step 6
Finished!
Voila! We have bunnage. I wear my hair this way most days. It's a great way to wear your hair for work or play. It looks equally beautiful with dresses or jeans.
