Hair Jewelry - Hair Sticks, hair pins, hair forks and more!
Are you looking for something a little more interesting that a plain elastic to keep your hair in place?
Whether you are looking for hair sticks, hair forks, hair pins, barrettes, or more, these fabulous sites offer gorgeous products that would be right at home snuggled into your updo.
There are several great ebay sellers who have fantastic hair sticks, but they don't always have them for sale.
Since they show "no auctions found" when there aren't any auctions, I've moved them to the bottom of the page. That way, when there are auctions you can see them. If there aren't any auctions listed, you can always do an ebay search for the seller. They may have "buy it now" auctions, which don't show up on squidoo lenses.

Hair stick How To's
Now that you've seen all of these beautiful hair sticks, you might be wondering how to use them.
If you're using hair sticks to actually hold your hair in place, it's best to weave your hair stick in and out of your hair. Start by fixing your hair, then poke the hairstick down to your scalp, grab some hair, then angle the hairstick down under the hair to grab the hair. After that angle the hair towards the scalp again, and your hair should be set.
You might have to try it a few times, until you can tell that the hair sticks are holding the hair well.
If you have plastic hair sticks be careful not to put too much pressure on them, because they could break.
If you're just using the hair sticks as decorations, just poke them anywhere!
Be sure that your hair sticks don't poke out to much when you've finished with tehm. You don't want to take out a passerby - or someone who's hugging you with your hair sticks.
No it hasn't happened to me, but I've heard stories!
Here are a few other places with instructions.

Hairsticks: Functional Or Festive Hair Accessories?
One of the most basic styles that can take either functional or decorative advantage of hairsticks is the basic hair knot. The hair knot can be worn in a variety of ways including on either side of the head right above the ear. The knot style (shown to the side and below) is a great style for most hairstick beginners. Knots are fairly easy to do on hair that is shoulder length or longer.0 points

- Love the videos and tips on how not to poke out someone's eye with a hair stick! You should read the book 'Making Hair Jewels and Accessories' - it's absolutely wonderful. It goes through hair sticks, barrettes, combs etc. You can learn how to create the most fantastic hair accessories that are amazingly really easy to make. Thanks for such a great lens!

- Thank you, Cardtouche! I'm going to add the book to my reading list, and to the lens. I really wish they had it at my libraries, but they don't.
