Hair Loss Treatment

Hair is the most distinct feature of any human body, and hair loss is generally experienced by each one of us today. For hair loss to occur there is no specific time or reason. Being more specific, it's the area around temples and at the top of the skull for any male/female, which tends to loose hair known as Pattern baldness. For hair to loss one need not attain to have gained a specific age, it all depends upon the various reasons responsible for it. The basic reason behind hair loss is still unidentified and each one of us has our own notion for it. Hair loss may be a result of different reasons; it may be because of stress, imbalanced diet, differences in the metabolism rate and many more. The first and foremost step, which is required towards hair loss control, is to have the knowledge about it. Though falling of hair is not a serious disease, however, can prove to be quite embarrassing at times. The latest thinking and research about hair loss is the knowledge about the sex hormone binding globulin or SHBG. It binds the testosterone in the body and controls the amount of the substance floating free in the bloodstream. The moment its level declines, there is more testosterone in the blood, which is likely to get converted into DHT. This formation of DHT is to a great extent responsible for hair loss. Besides this biological reasons there are many other reasons responsible for the hair loss. Among all tension and stress are the major reasons; most of the times both are confused for each other. What we need to understand is that both tension and stress are two different things; tension may be momentary and may arise out of some immediate problem. However, stress on the other side is the outcome of one's life style or the daily routine. The imbalance in the life routine and pressures at work make life really stressful. This stress is one major cause for hair loss and if not handled carefully can be a reason of great worry. The best way to handle the hair loss problem is to take care of it at the very beginning rather than waiting for it to become an area of great concern. It is generally much easier to stop a hair loss and thinning hair than it is to regain the hair that has already been lost. Another aspect, which needs to be taken care of, is the regulation of one's life routine and a check is demanded in one's eating habits. We need to understand that the several proteins and vitamins form an essential part of our diet. Nothing can overpower, a balanced diet and the balance in the diet doesn't only controls hair loss rather it helps in graying of hair. No proper blood circulation is another reason for hair loss, when there is no proper blood circulation then the hair roots don't get enough nutrients to support the life and strength of your hair in the follicle. The hardest place to get good circulation is at the top of your scalp, as it is the furthest point away from the heart. This area is less stimulated and fails to provide with the correct kind of nutrition. This is one main reason why people are generally bald at the center of the head. One way to improve blood circulation is to oil your hair regularly. Hair loss can definitely be controlled if proper steps and care is taken. All one needs to do is to be more careful and start taking the correct steps at the correct time.

The Egyptians also used Castor Oil to promote new hair growth. They mixed it with Sweet Almond Oil to improve the aroma and make the oil smoother and easier to spread.

Ancient Africans mixed steeped flowers in Olive Oil to make fragrant hair tonics. They also relied on the astringent properties of Avocado leaves to make infusions that were ideal for treating scalp problems.

Corrective Hair Transplants

Corrective Hair Transplants

A majority of the hair transplants that are carried out for both men and women are mainly because the patient has lost all his/her hair due to several factors like age, etc. There are also times when hair transplant surgeons also restore hair that had been lost due to some accident or surgery. Hair transplant procedures in such cases are more complex and difficult then the regular hair transplants, such type of hair transplant procedures are known as corrective hair transplants. All those women who go in for facial cosmetic surgery also need to go in for a bulk amount of corrective hair transplantation. What happens during facial cosmetic surgery is that they plastic surgeon makes incisions usually near the hairline at the temple. The incision runs from there right down to the front of the ear and up to the earlobe of the lower scalp.

The surgeon pulls the skin back after removing the fat and tightening muscle, trims the surplus tissue and stitches everything back together. In such cases hair loss may occur due t the scarring because the hairline is pulled back on the head while making these incisions. In the case of men, their hair sideburns are lost and in the case of women they may lose their hair bangs. This hair loss is mainly a problem for all the women who like to keep their hair off their face by tying it tightly behind in a braid, plait or ponytail. Also when people go in for a forehead lift or an eyebrow lift this can also result in hair loss because the incision for such cosmetic procedures are made at or behind the hairline and again the skin gets pulled back. For those men who are completely bald, the incision is usually made at the mid-scalp. There are new brow lift techniques introduces these days which leave less of a scar behind and also cause less hair problems.

But even then most of these people require going in for a hair transplant. What hair transplantation mainly aims at is to recreate the hairline and then dense it up. All those people who usually seek corrective hair transplantation are suffering from hair loss mainly due to some kind of trauma. It can be due to burns, accidents, mishaps or surgery. Surgeons perform hair transplant on upper lips for men if in case they had cleft palates as babies so that they will be able to grow a moustache. People have had lot of corrective procedures done using outdated plug techniques.

The Hair Loss specialist

The Hair Loss specialist

There are several men and women in the United States who are afflicted by hair loss problems. In spite of this fact there are quite a number of men and women whose first reaction when they realize that they are losing their hair is disagreement. And they act towards this problem in a wrong way as well by not taking appropriate measures to curb the hair fall. They spend most of their time worrying instead of seeking proper treatment or getting their problem analyzed. Both men and women should not hesitate about their problem and get in touch with a good hair specialist at once. In most of the cases, by the time most people realize that their hair is thinning they have already lost 50 percent of their hair.

The speed by which a person may lose hair varies from individual to individual. But it is better to get this problem treated as soon as possible before it results in baldness. It has been observed that there are patterns of baldness, most of which are hereditary, genetic loss of hair, which starts earlier in men then for women. Men start showing symptoms for this kind of baldness when they are in their late 20s and 30s, whereas for women it usually shows up when they are in their 50s. Both sexes can get affected by pattern baldness anytime after they attain puberty. Hair loss problem is a very common problem for both men and women, but in case of women it can get more severe. Even the patterns of hair loss I both sexes are completely different. In men they tend to lose their hair from the front are in a U like formation and in women there is more of scattered thinning of hair all throughout the scalp.

The main culprit behind hair loss problems is genes, but there are times when hair loss is caused due to anemia, excess production of androgen hormone, lupus or thyroid problems. People also suffer from hair loss which may be as a result of drugs or medications such as chemotherapy, hypertension drugs, ibuprofen, antidepressants or anticoagulants. Basically hair loss can result due to sudden weight loss or weight gain, mental or emotional stress or trauma, shock to the system or recovering from serious illness. Such problems cannot only result in thinning of hair but it can also speed up the rate of hair fall.

New techniques in Hair transplants

New techniques in Hair transplants

Transplants that have not been carried out properly are very easy to spot. Bad hair transplants are very weird to look at and can make its owner feel embarrassed and conscious. This is mainly because badly transplanted hair looks unnatural and seems like someone plugged it into the owners head. But it is very difficult for people to realize that they came across a person who has had a good hair transplant. This is mainly because a hair transplant if done well is very difficult to detect or recognize. The techniques for carrying out hair transplants have changed drastically over the years. And by advent of new technology these hair transplant techniques have just got better. There has been a great deal of improvement in almost every facet of hair transplantation.

The procedure involved in hair transplantation is that hair is taken from a part called as donor area which is usually located at the back or side of the head. And then this hair is replanted into the portion which is suffering from hair loss. The donor hair used to be transplanted in a large amount for ex. 10 to 20 hairs; nowadays surgeons are transplanting tiny bundles of just 3 or 4 hairs which are growing together in a follicular unit. The surgeons are making use of instruments which look like as if they are cookie cutters in order to make incisions on the head of the patient which will make it look as though it were a doll head. Such an instrument is called as punches. The new techniques also involve taking hair from back of the head in the form of tiny strips and then dividing those strips into follicular units. The surgeons then make use of tiny needles to plant those hairs back into the scalp of the patient.

Such a type of procedure for transplanting hair is known as follicular unit hair transplantation and is a very popular approach for hair transplants these days. This technique is very suitable for people who have a nominal rate of hair loss or for athletes who need to get into action as soon as the surgery is over. Otherwise their scars would widen over time. With all these new techniques easily available studies show that all those people who are afflicted with patter n baldness can easily become good candidates for donating a good amount of donor hair. Donors could be both men and women having any hair type or color.
