Halco Tackle
The Halco name is legendary in the Australian lure fishing competition scene. For many years the RMG Scorpion (Halco Sorcerer) has been responsible for catching the heaviest fish at the prestigious Barra Classic. As a result the Scorpions are now widely recognised as Australia's greatest ever barramundi lure.
Halco lures have also featured prominently among the prize winners at the Barra Nationals. In the 2004 competition champion angler Kevin Brown caught three barra over a metre in one day, all on Scorpion 150s. The largest barra of the tournament was caught on a White Redhead Scorpion 150 in deep water. The fish was measured at a massive 119cm, one of the largest ever caught at the Nationals. Halco lures have also won the Abrolhos Islands Game Fishing Tournament in years past. This year's tournament saw Ben Patrick's Halco team winning the Gamefish section and Champion Angler for Gamefish, whilst Neil Patrick's team won the Billfish section along with Champion Angler for Billfish.
Neil's Patrick's game fishing record has been exceptional, including the capture of many black marlin over 1,000lbs and holding the Australian record for a blue marlin on 37kg tackle. Apart from being an IGFA representative, Neil is a life member of the Western Australian Game Fishing Association, a life member of the Game Fishing Association of Australia and patron and life member of Perth Game Fishing Club. Recently Neil became an IGFA Trustee. He is one of 22 people worldwide to form part of the peak body of the International Gamefish Association. With the benefit of being a long established company with a forward looking, experienced and innovative management team, Halco is determined to significantly increase its share of the world lure market as they move into the future.

TIP: Halco lures come in many colours, there have been many arguments and theories put out about lure colours. Whatever theory you believe, it cannot be disputed that some colours work better than others. The safest bet is to have a few colours and try to ensure they cover a broad spectrum. For example try to have lures colours in the following categories - Chrome, Bright Fluoro, Natural patterns, dark as well as high contrast colours. It's then a process of assessing what works best for a given species at a particular time and location.
