The HIT Parade (Japanese half-frame cameras)

Ranked #28,522 in Hobbies, Games & Toys, #605,678 overall

What's this site all about?

My name is Scott Andrew Bird, and I've been surrounded by cameras for the past 28 years. This lens concentrates on my particular passion - the Japanese Half-frames of the 1960s and '70s. These cameras doubled the number of photos available from a standard roll of 35mm film; essentially by squeezing 2 images onto each frame.

These cameras were eventually replaced by newer models which were just as small and were able to take full advantage of the same film. In that brief period, however, some beautiful cameras appeared. The half-frames.

NB : you may notice on the various documents pointed to on this site that the cameras are known by many different names - in addition to half-frames you also see split-frames, twin-frames and double-frames. Whatever the name, the cameras themselves are just as magical. Enjoy.
