Halle Berry gets star on Walk of Fame

Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Wednesday, April 4, 2007. Oscar winning actress Halle Berry now has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The actress was joined by friends and family yesterday when her star was revealed on the famous sidewalk. Berry won an Academy Award for her role in "Monster's Ball" and was also honored for her work in "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge" with an Emmy and Golden Globe. Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards says he gave his father a bizarre send-off after his death. The rocker tells a British music magazine he snorted a line of his cremated father. Richards says he mixed his ashes with cocaine before inhaling it. His father Bert died in 2002 at the age of 84. The rocker says his dad wouldn't have minded. Former spice girl Melanie Brown has welcomed a baby girl. People magazine reports Brown, once known as Scary Spice, gave birth Tuesday. The singer's rep says a name has not yet been decided on and for now, she's just "Baby Brown." The paternity of the new baby is controversial...Brown says her ex Eddie Murphy is the father but he's questioning her claims. "Baby Brown" joins an 8-year-old sister Phoenix from Brown's previous marriage. Country singer and songwriter Billy Shaver is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. 67 year old Shaver allegedly shot a man in the face outside of a Texas bar. The man is reportedly in stable condition in the hospital. The singer was recently inducted into the Texas Music Hall of Fame and his songs have been recorded by big stars like Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. Heather Mills says a new prosthetic leg is to thank for her success on Monday night's "Dancing With the Stars." The former model told a British newspaper her new, more flexible prosthetic has allowed her to try more challenging choreography. Judges praised her for her performance earlier this week. Mills lost her leg years ago in a traffic accident and is the first contestant in the dancing contest to compete with such a disability. That's all for now.
