Halloween and the Native People by Annlee Cakes

Long long ago along the two rivers and the clouded
falls, and as far as stories have been told at the fire by the elders.

A long, time ago the human people believed that evil spirits and demons caused destruction and misfortune. Like the crazy crow or the all seeing Owl.

One legend says that near the fall when people are celebrating the hunting festival many jealous ghosts kept on trying to trick mortal humans by letting them in by the fire.

With promises of great herds and deer without numbers,

And the human people started to believe the spirits

A wise and very old respected medicine man brought to the human people furs of the fox, and furs of the racoon and the bear, and explained if they often wore masks of these and if they went out after dark to keep from being recognized by the ghosts they would be protected by the Heart of the Buffalo.

Throughout parts of the Nation the word went forth. And, the weary warrior's carrying the tale were like the poor because they were outside their tribes and clan, and would go from teepee to teepee begging for flat cakes or sweet berries.

A long time ago, was when the human people wore masks whenever diseases and disaster or famine struck. They believe that their masks would scare away the cause of the bad things. As the tale from the beginning was told and retold around the Great Fires as the Winter's approach started to fill the air with crispy winds.

Then after many moons even the young human children dressed up to scare the Spirits....

In the new country called the New World is where, the human being children would gather to the wooden log homes where the friendly woman would give candy, cookies and apples to the adorned human children in exchange for promises of no naughty tricks or mischief which in the air?

Even more stories were told about the human being.

Much later, as the country grew and the human beings declined: The children of the wooden houses began to dress up but did not have the animal skins of the human people.

Where it began that, they started to made their own,

And many could not sew well? There by came the costumes of rags and strange things.

To this day we see the people of the wooden houses claim it their idea!

But we human beings know the story told!

Many Native Americans today would like it better if the children did not wear Indian Costumes for this Holiday!

I can understand their reasonings: But personally see no logic of why they cannot? IN MY SOLE OPINION!

Halloween History:

Many versions of the origins and old customs of where and when Halloween actually started could fill volumes of books.

As many different cultures around the World enjoy and still view Halloween somewhat differently? Nevertheless, traditional Halloween practices remain the same from agea ago right to the time of today. Dressing up and going out and collecting something wheter candy or treats?

The Halloween culture itself can be traced back to the times of the Druids ((Celtic culture in Ireland, Britain and Northern Europe))

Basic foundation of Halloween lay in the feast of Samhain, which was annually on October 31st to honor the dead.Samhain signifies "summers end" or November. Samhain was a fall festival with huge ceromonial sacred fires as Winter's air started to arrive marking the end of summer and marking the end of the Celtic year and beginning of a new one.

Many of the things about Halloween were involved in this celebration and many stones were fed on superstition For example; the Celts believed the souls of the dead roamed the streets and villages at night. Since not all spirits were thought to be friendly, gifts and treats were left out to pacify the evil and ensure next years crops would be plentiful. The First People knew of the Spirits and always were carefull about them.

To-Day! The wearing og costumes by the wee ones and going out to gather treats is well established especially in the United States, and costumes of all cultures are worn as well as the comic and or scary ones of this time. I remain steadfast in my opinion that if they wear indian style costumes that I personally do not take this as wrong or culture attack in any way anymore than if the costume is Dutch, German, or any country and history based. My personal opinion!

Besides, even we have a tale told around the campfires!

Throughout the world the Bible is in every language and many translations, and yet in every single one the Precept and Concept brought forth by the Indwelling Spirit to every writer and contributor, and to all versions upon the Earth: The Holy Word is always intact. No translation can change the Concept and the Precept as it was granted by the Father through the Spirit and revealed by the Son of God, whom is Jesus Christ of Nazareth. This is scriptural truth that the Spirit watches over the Precepts and the Concepts no matter how mankind translates and puts in print the Word. That is why side by side the translations printed into a Bible have and use many variations of printed words. One may say thee and another may print you for the word thee. Remember it is only the Precept and Concept protected by the Spirit.

Jesus opened the simple pathway to know the Father which no one can close. I am amazed when so many know the Lord's Prayer Jesus gave us all to pray: And yet, so few have ever read or heard of the special prayers Jesus gave ONLY to those following him by personal choice. Nonetheless, these prayers are in the New Testament in every translation and language in the world. And, they are not spoken of from the pulpits? Why? Go read for yourself and then enter your prayer chamber with the Creator and ask what you were simply missing and why? For we were asked to pray them when gathered in His Name.

These are the end days spoken of by the Lord, and we as Christians must be prepared and send out the Trumpets Sounding. Behold! Jesus Christ is Coming! Amen and Amen

Jesus is the Son of God and the Living Lord Saviour, who died on the Cross to save me and anyone, who seeks Him, and He was buried and arose alive from the grave to overcome for each of us the sting of death and so we can live with God after we leave this Earth and our earthly bodies. I believe in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as ONE GOD!

The "WORD" of God first comes from hearing.

When one first hears they start ponderings within.

Trying inside to figure is this real or unreal?

As I see it:

The Bible is for the FAITHFUL.

Without Jesus no individual can have faith, and therefore no way to comprehend or share correctly the BIBLE. Without FAITH anything that comes out and talked about the WORD by the unfaithful is incorrect for they did not have the Teacher.

WE are free from the PAINS OF DEATH........NOT FROM DEATH ITSELF

Scriptures technically teach nothing to those without the Spirit except to bring a thirst as a human being drawn to come to their Creator. Then each must make a choice?

THE TEACHER IS THE SPIRIT and the Spirit is Jesus, and without Jesus as Lord there is no knowledge of the scriptures. Wherefore, as it is written they speak as fools who have not the Lord and Comforter. Trying if possible to fool and attack all WHO DO KNOW THE LORD.

We are further moved that to understand or know the

WORD that it takes the Teacher of All Things, and without the Teacher

We understand to be the Comforter no wisdom of knowledge

Is applicable as dictated by the WORD we do have to comprehend.

The Comforter is a "FREE GIFT" that comes from one Asking the Lord into their life as Savior: For He is the Way and the doorway to the Creator. We understand no other doorway exists for a human to Talk and Know their Creator.

Theology is simply the individual studying of the Word and sharing what you have studied in its ground roots form. You can do this! Be a Good Shepard and Steward of the Word. Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened unto you. Amen and Amen

As a Christian and the Author of the Hray-Mah series of three books I ask myself every day how does an author explain his own books?
