Scary Eyes
As a vampire I think that scary eyes look .. well ... kind of hot on a female vampire. But I know you mortals like the nicey nicey look. So why do you take these risks? Here is what happens if you get an eye infection that goes horribly wrong.
What mistakes do mortals make?
I was out and about the other night on the prowl and I happened to look through a lounge room window and saw an episode America's Next Top Model where the models were doing a photo shoot with Halloween contact lenses.I howled with laughter when I saw a model put a contact lens in her mouth to clean it off before she put it in her eye. Such foolishness mortals.
So what are the crazy things that mortals do with their contact lenses?
1) On average mortals wear their contact lenses 4 times longer than recommended. So take the "Wild Eyes" brand for example, these are 14 wear lenses. Foolish mortal wear them for 48 times before they throw them away.
2) 50% of Mortals sleep in their lenses that are designed for daily wear only. Doing this increase the risk of an infection by 5 times. See the picture above.
3) Mortals swim in their contact lenses. 97% of lenses worn swimming are badly contaminated with bacteria.
4) 20% of mortals lick their contact lenses
5) 15% of mortals wear their lenses after dropping them on the floor.
6) Female mortals keep their make up for too long. 50% of testers at make up counters are contaminated with bacteria. 5% of these testers have up to 5,000 bacteria per gram.
7) Male mortals (who we vampires refer to as mere mortals) are worse at washing their hands than female mortals. 63% of mere mortals didn't wash their hands after going to the toilet at a baseball game.
8) 85% of mortals have less than ideal case hygiene

Here are the rules
Forgive me if I sound like a bossy vampire
See how I am checking if this young lady is sleeping in her lenses. What a responsible vampire I am.A bit of clarification for mere mortals: contact lenses that have no optical power are referred to as "plano" lenses.
WARNING ( OOOOh I am starting to scare you)
Incorrect/Inappropriate use of contact lenses can lead to:
Inflammation, redness of the white part of the eye, or infection
Sore or watery eyes
Swelling or sensitivity of the eye area
Slipping or movement of the lens
Dry eyes
Impairment of vision
Allergic reaction
If you experience any of the above problems, remove the lenses IMMEDIATELY and contact a doctor or an eye care professional.
Contact lenses are NOT suitable for everyone. If you suffer from diabetes, corneal swelling, allergies, conjunctivitis or other eye infections you should consult a doctor or optometrist before wearing the lenses.
Failure to follow any of the following directions could cause permanent damage to your eyes.
To eliminate the risk of almost all serious complications, it is recommended that novelty and coloured contact lenses be discarded after use as directed by the manufacturer.
