Halloween Costume Ideas for Dogs
Intro to Dog Dressing 101
Dog lovers are always in need of fresh ideas for how to dress their best friend for Halloween. Last year's costume just isn't good enough. To ensure that you have the best dressed pooch on the block, take a look at these hot ideas.
Every one of them is a costume you can purchase online, but if you're crafty, you can also make a version of it by yourself. There are companies that specialize in nothing but outfitting dogs for Halloween and other holidays. So take a look and see if you can't find something woof-tastic.

Be Cute, But Be Safe
Keep it Simple
Keep in mind when dressing your pet that safety is your number one concern. Yes, you want your little darling to look adorable in her Halloween costume, but if she can't walk because her outfit is too tight or if she can't see because her mask is covering her eyes, it's not a good idea.Modify the outfit to your dog's size and shape. Most costumes come in small, medium, and large, so you can find the exact fit that your dog needs.
Why to Fit the Costumes
Comfort First
Fashion Later
Also make sure that the costume does not include any embellishments that your dog might chew on or eat (just like you wouldn't want him eating a whole lot of Halloween treats). While everyone is busy partying, your dog may start gnawing on his costume and swallow a piece of it.It's best to have your dog arrive at a party dressed, let everyone fawn all over him, take lots of pictures, and then take the costume off him for the rest of the night. Even the most tolerant and well behaved dog can't stay the whole evening in a costume without trying to bite it off.
Your Two Cents
Would you dress up your pup for Halloween?

Yes! How fun is that!
NancyOram says:
Yes and no. Even when I put sweaters on him to keep him warm, my little Rascal could undress himself -- every time and always when I wasn't looking.
AsianMarketplace says:
Why not, it will be a pumpkin on his head!
Jess' adventures says:
Of course i would!
OhMe says:
I would like to dress up our new puppy but not sure he would allow it and he is the boss these days.
No way, not for me.
Celeste says:
Na,I'm just gonna paint him as a flag

Search online stores for the best deals on doggie Halloween wear. Often brick and mortar stores will carry only one or two items to choose from. That can be frustrating if you've been driving around in search of the perfect pooch costume. For the best selection check online retailers who specialize in Halloween costumes or pet wear. Prices usually range from $20-$30 and you'll have a hard time selecting just one outfit. They are all so darling. Even if you plan to make your dog's costume this year, browsing online will give you an idea of what you'll need to make the outfit.
Make sure that when all is said and done, you have a special treat for your pup. After all, that was hard work for them! A nice dog gift basket with some treats is always a welcomed choice.
