Queen of Hearts Costume

The Queen of Hearts is one of the playing card characters in Alice in Wonderland. She rules the Wonderland with a heavy hand and constantly orders the beheading of people when she sees something she doesn't like. Although these orders are never actually carried out. Still the yelling of 'Off with his head!' obviously scares the habitants of Wonderland.
The Queen of Hearts is an impatient tyrant as a ruler whose partner the King of Hearts tries to mediate between her and other characters. She also wants to conduct trials in her own way: 'Sentence first... Verdict afterwards!'

The Queen of Hearts likes to play croquet with live flamingoes and hedgehogs as mallets and balls. But she needs to win all the time and she is known to change the rules at her own will.

The author Lewis Carroll wrote the following about the Queen of Hearts: "I pictured to myself the Queen of Hearts as a sort of embodiment of ungovernable passion - a blind and aimless Fury." The picture is by Sir John Tenniel.
