EASY GHOST CUPCAKES

For those (like me) who aren't that great at making fondant ghosts!

Easy black and white ghost cupcakes with fondant decorations that are easy enough for a beginner!
I made these easy ghost cupckaes on a day when there was absolutely no time for advanced cake decorating ideas that required spending hours of time shaping and molding fondant. It's not always about being too lazy to decorate the cupcakes. There are those days that I do well to get my baking done and clean up the kitchen to get ready for the guests .

These cupcakes are decorated with black and white fondant. The white fondant that I used for the cute ghost cutouts didn't require any gel food coloring at all which not only saved time; they were be cheap to make. I cut out the ghost toppers as well as the circles of fondant layered over the crumb coat are using ghost shaped cookie cutters.

Later I may try my hand at making 3D ghost cupcake toppers but on this day, I was thankful that I thought of a way to decorate these ghost cupcakes that was FAST and EASY!

Black Cat Halloween Cupcakes Kids Can Make

With just a little help your kids can make these cupcakes themselves!

I found the instructions for these black cat cupcakes for kids in an OLD magazine and I loved the idea of including them as part of the Halloween party fun! Just put the supplies in bowls along the table, add a few plain cupcakes and the kids can decorate the cupcakes to eat or right on the spot or you can send them home as edible party favors in a cute box.

Here are the instructions the easy kitty cat cupcakes that will require almost no skills but to keep down the mess you may want to frost the tops of the cupcakes before the Halloween party so that all the kids just decorate them.

SUGGESTIONS!
Put a couple of cupcakes that you decorated on display as examples for the kids.

Cut the jellybeans and licorice twists cut in appropriate shapes and sizes beforehand so that the children can simply use them right out of the bowls with no cutting required..

SUPPLY LIST
Black licorice twists
Black jelly beans
Red jelly beans or gumdrops
Freshly Baked Cupcakes
Colored Cake Frosting

Put the candy sprinkles, cat's whiskers, ears and eyes in bowls.

To make the black cat's ears, bend the licorice twists into a V shape and insert two of these shapes in the top portion of the frosted cupcake.

To make the cat's eyes, place two of the (green? red?) jelly bean halves where the eyes should be.

Use the red gumdrops to make the cat's nose and stick a few pieces of licorice in place as the whiskers.

SPIDER HALLOWEEN CUPCAKES

Who among us is brave and fearless enough to bite the head off of a spider? This is a question that would be cool to ask at your costume party right before you serve up a platter of spider cupcakes that you made using Halloween cupcake ideas picked up from the pictures on this pages.

Making these spider cakes can be as simple as first frosting the tops in one smooth layer using black frosting then mounding two balls of frosting (one small for the head and a large one for the body) on top of your first layer and then using some black licorice for the legs.

Another method would be to add one single round ball of fondant or frosting on the top of the smooth layer, add some eyes and eight, bent lengths of licorice will give the impression that a spider is sitting upright on each individual dessert cake.

Shiny, black sprinkle and black spider cupcake wrappers will do a lot to make your creations even more dramatic if you can locate them. If someone will tell me where can I find black cupcake holders and black cupcake liners I will let you know!

HUGGABLE BUG CUPCAKES

Please don't call the exterminator! These insects are welcome at the party.

Would you like to make bugs the stars of your Boo fest? Halloween cupcake ideas with huggable bug cupcakes on the menu raise insects to celebrity status, so why not? Unlike ants, yellow jackets or bees at a picnic; these critters are invited to be part of the party decorations and the more wild and colorful the better.

A fall baby shower or kids' Trick or Treat party will be ever so much more exciting and fun with creatures based on those found in nature. The great thing about these sweets is that they come without the irritating buzzing and bites.

CUPCAKE HALLOWEEN COSTUME

All cupcakes are not edible on All Hallow's Eve!

Be careful with these cupcake costumes; they are so sweet that somebody might just try to take a bite!

It just goes to show you that we have a few surprises in the old Trick or Treat bag and that in certain times of the eyar all Halloween cupcake ideas are not what they may seem.

THE RIGHT HALLOWEEN CUPCAKES MAY SAVE YOUR NECK!

Are you on the fence about whipping up a batch? Here are some reasons you should.

These creative Halloween cupcake ideas are sure to please the creepiest of creatures out on the town for Trick or Treat. Even ghouls with the most discerning of tastes in cakes will find something to drool over. While the witch and black cat cupcakes may be too creepy to bite into with your eyes wide open, the kids will adore the cute and colorful bugs that are rather endearing with their long, fuzzy antennas.

Until I dredged deeply into the kitchens and annals of creative bakers on the net, I never dreamed that a vampire bat dripping red blood from sharp fangs could be so tasty. However, I have to give the mummy cupcakes the prize. The black currant eyes peeping through strips of fondant arranged to resemble a mummy's bandages that have been entombed for centuries decorating the tops of my favorite chocolate cake recipe are creepy enough to send tingles up my spine and yet tickle my taste buds.
