Grandma Laura Was a Witch!

At least on this Halloween night when she joined the spooky action at our house. In her homemade witch costume, she is standing just inside the living room near the front door which is made of beveled glass. The glass enclosed porch worked great for greeting trick-or-treaters on Halloween night and handing out a ton of candy. Mom always had her camera ready to take pictures of her favorite costumes.

This is a Halloween witch costume that my mother made, and probably wore the year before. I don't know if Grandma believed in Halloween and trick-or-treating or not, but she was game for the festivities that evening.

Clown CostumeWhen my daughter Debra was very young, we took her to an open house at Grandma's school. When the husband of a fellow teacher, who was wearing a clown costume, picked Debra up she wasn't very happy.

Years later she not only survived the trauma of meeting the clown face to face, she also enjoyed painting her own cheeks. Not only that, but she and her friends enjoyed dressing up and going out trick-or-treating all over our town.
