Halloween Flower Costume Ideas

A flower costume is just perfect for a baby, as the decorative part of the outfit is the flower head. The body of a good Halloween flower costume for a baby will be made of soft, comfortable fabric which will stand up to crawling -- not to mention plenty of cuddles. Yes, watch out, put your baby in a flower costume and he or she will become irresistible!

Little girls seem made for flower costumes.. and vice versa! What could be more girly for a little lady who loves pink and glitter? A Halloween flower costume is just perfect for a girl who wants to look pretty in feminine colors when those around her are more interested in fake blood and scary disguises.

Halloween is a night of fun, so if the little girl in your family would rather be a flower than a witch or a ghost, let's find her a cute flower costume!

Another real advantage of letting her be a flower this Halloween is that flower costumes can be so easy to make. If you take a look at the Flickr photos further down the page, you'll see some great examples of little girls wearing flower headbands. You can put these together using an inexpensive headband and then letting your daughter, niece or grand-daughter cut out or color in some flower petal shapes. Simply stick these to the band and you have the flower head.

For the body, anything green will be perfect. Dress it up with some leaves and maybe some pretend bugs too. A spot of pretty face paint or dusting of make-up (like the little girl above) can complete the flower look.

Can adults be flowers at Halloween? Sure they can! The look might be easier for a woman to pull off, but if you are a man with a good sense of humor, it's a great costume for raising a few laughs!

Your Halloween flower costume is not likely to be quite as impressive as this Venetian Carnival Rose costume, but once you have the basic look, you can dress it up just as much as you like.

For an easy to make Halloween costume, as with the kids, all you need is some green clothes and a flower headband or some face-framing petals (see the comic-reading man in the Flickr photos below). There are lots of clip-on hair flowers that will make your costume more impressive, or go all the way and buy a full flower costume.

If you want a more grown-up look, bring back Flower Power! Go for a hippie 1970s look with plenty of flowers and peace symbols.

Just like with babies, flowers are great Halloween costumes for dogs. Don't those flower faces above look cute!

Needless to say, if you make your own dog flower costume, make sure it's nice and safe and does not cause your dog any discomfort. But you knew that.
