Halloween Formal Evening Wear
Choosing Halloween Formal Wear with Care
Formal occasions, events, and parties scheduled around Halloween can be tricky to dress for. Sometimes the invitation is not exactly clear on the expectations of dress. And there's only one thing worse than arriving at a formal occasion to find that you're the only one not dressed in a costume - being the only person who is dressed in costume.

Grecian and Goddess Style Gowns
A long white grecian or one-shouldered style dress looks very elegant for an ordinary event, but, should you find yourself at a costume party, you can claim that you're dressed as a Greek or Roman goddess.

Suits You
A suit can look very smart, particularly as cocktail wear, or dress it up with a bowler hat and umbrella and pretend your costume is British. This is one for the guys too.

Vintage
Vintage is so fashionable right now that no one will bat an eyelid if you style yourself with a 50s retro feel. But it can work beautifully as a costume too.

Masquerade, Venetian, and Mardi Gras Masks
A small masquerade mask is ideal for slipping into your purse just in case you need a little something to dress up a plain outfit and turn it into a costume. If you don't need it, no one need know you brought it.
Wigging It
A wig is easy to slip into a clutch bag and can save your (lack of) costume by giving you something to differentiate yourself from ordinary formal wear if you got it wrong.

- Congrats on being a fellow SquidBoo King (Queen?). Bringing a mask is Brilliant. I usually wear black, so could be in a costume or not.
