Halloween with Jembie

A Jembie kind of Halloween

Halloween was never a big event for me. Growing up here in the UK it wasn't something that we did each year.
That all changed when 6 years ago My Niece was born on All Hallows Eve. Now every year to mark her birthday we have a right old family knees up with a Halloween theme.
Each year all the big guns are pulled out and I start looking earlier and earlier for my costume. I also seem to spend more money each year too.
Not long to go now!!

Finding a Halloween Outfit that fits right...

..and looks right for Halloween

Halloween costumesIt can be difficult to find Plus size costumes. They aren't available off the rack as easily as other costumes.
I searched eBay High and Low trying to find something to fit me that would look good and scary but still be comfortable.
There are one or two sellers on eBay selling outsize costumes but you pay a premium and I had to ask myself at time is it really worth paying out when you are only going to wear it for a couple of hours at a party. It's not as special as a wedding dress after all.
After weeks on end of searching and watching and bidding, I ended up finding this great costume for the party.
I would be dressing as a Graveyard Angel.

Scary Gothic wig

A Halloween must

Of course I needed a Wig too for my Graveyard Angel to really look the part.
I considered several different wigs but in the end I found one called Graveyard Angel Wig so that was perfect for what I needed.
The Costume was really coming together now.
I was really excited that I could turn up at the party house on Halloween looking the part, even if I did scare all the little children in the process.

Halloween face make up

So I had the costume and the wig.
All I needed now was the make-up to finsh it off.
I really couldn't decide how my face should look so I had a look at what the different styles and prices of make-up were available.
In the end I went for a pot of stage make up in white. This will last me for quite a few years but I can use it for future Halloweens as a base to other colours which in turn makes the colour stronger and last longer too. So when I want to go as a witch, I can put the white on as a base layer and put the green on top to make it last all night instead of just the first hour.

Dark Angel make-up tutorial

A great Halloween tutorial

I wish I had found this and had a go at it to make the costume a little more interesting.
I wouldn't be able to wear the big eyelash extensions though as they would get stuck on my glasses. I have tried some before but they just don't work if you are wearing specs :(

So enjoy...Let me know if you have tried this :)

Halloween party houseThere you have it I was all ready to go. I had my Plus size costume bought on ebay at a reasonable price.
I had my Gothic black wig bought from a local fancy dress shop.
My face was thickly painted white with good quality white stage make-up to with-hold all of the evenings activities and for my feet I wore a pair of white pumps that I have already at home with Gold detail that I thought would set it all off.
Then I was ready to leave home for the Haunted Halloween party house.
