A Tour of Outdoor Halloween Decorations

When did Halloween Decorations get so Elaborate?

I remember when Halloween decorations consisted of a pumpkin that we carved into a Jack-O-Lantern and sat on our front porch.  In our neighborhood Halloween outdoor decorations have become as elaborate as Christmas decorating. I'm not sure when this tradition started, but it seems to get more elaborate each year.

I decided it would be fun to take a tour of our neighborhood and photograph the various Halloween decorations.

I hope your enjoy this look into Halloween in our neighborhood in O'Fallon, Missouri!

Light up Jack-O-Lanterns for your Yard

I tend to like the more traditional type of Halloween decor. This light up Jack-O-Lantern would be a good choice.

Halloween Black Cat Flag

In taking a walk through my neighborhood on an early October day in 2010, I found that Halloween flags and banners seem to be very popular this year. I have added a photo of one of those flags in the introduction photo for this lens.

Very fun lens. I love to decorate for Halloween. We decorate our yard, but we also have a "person's" arm that is hanging out of our trunk as we drive.

Because I have some really great Halloween stencils I usually make hanging things and put them out on the front porch, I love making Halloween cookies for the kids and I just admire people that go to a lot of trouble to decorate their front yards, whether it is for Christmas or Halloween it is really getting into the spirit of festivities

You are like me with your camera, good shots. I don't like the dark side of this, I would rather see pumpkins and happy characters. :)
