It's amazing to observe, sort of from a distance, how children grow and mature, right before your eyes. They're learning to walk one day, and the next, they're dressing up in Child nurse costumes for their first Halloween party. Things get complicated of course, as they mature and progress on through the years. And it's important that things are gradual. It's important to be patient with children, in order to build more stable foundations for them. Remember that children are always absorbing things. Long before they can talk, they can already take in every sound, every word, and every body movement (body language).

In the ensuing years, they'll be putting those input to work, in the way of output: language they themselves use; body language they themselves employ to express themselves. With a child, everything is stretched into the long term and long range; you're thinking of the horizon, and then some. You have to, because if you don't, you get caught in this isolated space wherein you really aren't seeing reality.
