Halloween Popcorn Balls

A Yummy Halloween Tradition!

Popcorn balls are a yummy treat I was practically raised on. It became a Halloween tradition where, as that magical day approached, my mother would pull out her extra-large mixing bowl, the candy thermometer and her cookie sheets in preparation for the annual task.

As the brown sugar and cornstarch began to melt in the pot, the aroma would fill up the kitchen, joining the smell of the already-popped popcorn. I plan on passing this tradition with my own daughters.

A school teacher in my town used to make these and pass out to trick or treaters. It made her house super popular because they were SO good. Way better than store bought treats.

Look yummy. I'd be hesitant to give these out to children due to fears in the US ( -- wrapped candy is best). That said these look great for parties year round!
