So, You Have Decided to Go To A Halloween Party

We adults can no longer dress up in Halloween costumes and go trick or treating. But we love to dress up in our favourite Halloween costume, and get together with other like minded adults and have a party.

Why stop having fun just because you have grown up. There are so many different adult halloween costumes out there will make your head spin, literally.
My favorite idea is to base my costume on a Movie. These are so natural, and easy. You can whip up your own costume in a matter of weeks. Or just go and buy one! What the hell Halloween is now the 2nd biggest spending season of the year.
What should you buy? Can you make it? Where can you get it cheap?

I will try and help you get through this Halloween Costume Party mess.

Where Did Halloween Start?


Halloween has its origins in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. The celebration of Samhain is occurs at the end of the harvest in Gaelic culture. The festival was a time for the ancient cultures to take stock of their food supplies, and to slaughter the livestock for the winter.

The ancient Gaels, believed that on October 31st the line between the living and the dead dissolved. The dead the harvest.

The Celtics would have festivals, which involved massive bonfires, and the bones of the livestock would be thrown into these fires.could now wonder amongst the living, wreaking havoac, such as inflicting sickness and as well damage They would wear costumes and masks and mimic the evil spirits and hopefully humor them.

Why Not Make Your Own Outfit

I personally like to make my own costume, and I have for years. I love visiting thrift shops for ideas. From my Dracula outfit, Death (is easy) the Killer bunny, and even an alien outfit (I ended up buying the mask) There are so many different things now that you can use to make your own outfit.

My Killer bunny outfit turned out to be the most demanding as I had to find doll heads to put on my belt. I also scared some children on the subway when I was going to the Halloween party.

Here's a Start for Making Your Own Halloween Costume.

My own feelings are, that the "rougher" or amateurish these costume look the better. So many of these characters have transcended the cliffs of reality and how they look, does not matter. I do not worry about whether my clothes have even edges, or whether there are gaps on stitching. They don't worry about it so why should you.?

Everywhere you go during an Election year Halloween, someone is wearing a candidate's mask. These are so funny. Just put on a scruffy suit from your local thrift shop and put on a mask and you have a great little, inexpensive mask.

If John McCain wins the election, she has enough folksy stuff for Comedians for a thousand years. She should also be a the economic stimulus for the costume industry for years to come.
