Are You Playing Halo 2 or Halo 3?

This will give you all of the hints, tricks, cheats, and latest mods for all of your Halo needs. I surf the Internet and play around to find all of the latest things to do in Halo 2 and Halo 3.

For instance, I know how to do the Halo 3 sword lunge, how to mod characters, weapons, and other aspects of the Halo 2 and Halo 3 games.  I can have a Ferrari, make my character look like Superman - I can play as a hunter and fly.

Want to know how I do it? Read this lens for some great Halo 2 and Halo 3 xBox tutorials and you'll be owning. But first, you have to literally own the game - you do, don't you? If not, this lens has everything you need to play and mod.

Xbox 360 Console Halo 3 Special Edition
(with HDMI)

The first thing you're going to need if you're going to play Halo 3 is the xBox 360. Sorry, but older systems won't work with it.  You can play Halo 2 on the original XBox, though.  You can also buy Halo games for your computer.

The coolest thing is that you can get the Halo version of xBox 360 which is a special edition console.  It comes bundled with a matching Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, 20GB Hard Drive, Headset, Play & Charge Kit, and exclusive Halo 3 Gamer Pics and Theme.

Halo 2 and 3 Trick: Use a Banshee to Fly

This works better on Halo 2 than on Halo 3

Halo 3 Original Soundtrack
(2-CD Set)

Okay, all you need to fly in Halo 2 or 3 is a level, a banshee and rockets. First, get in the banshee and face completely upwards and hit X.

Then once it falls upside down, stand on the end of one wing. Then shoot the other wing with the rocket and this should send you flying.

Check out the video below to see an example of how to use a Banshee to Fly:

Halo 2 or Halo 3 Sword Lunge

A Quicker Way of Getting Around

Halo 3:
The Official Strategy Guide
(Prima Official Game Guides)

The Halo sword lunge doesn't really show the sword, but instead it helps you lunge toward another character who's an enemy.

People use the Halo sword lunge to get around faster, jump higher, and get into smaller areas or secret places.

For this you will need an empty rocket launcher and a sword on any level. It's quite simple, but rarely works unless you practice.

Get the rocket and start hitting XY&B really fast at an enemy, but make sure the rocket shows a Red target first. The sword lunge will occur and you'll get a really fast boost in the direction you're aiming.

What Is a Halo Mod and How Do You Do It?

A Halo mod means you're modifying the game from its original state to another. For instance, you can use a mod to make your character fly, to drive a sports car, or to look like Superman. You can even make a paintball gun as a mod.

When you create mods, you can't use them in XBox live or the server people will kick you off and ban you from the game. This is for personal play only.

So how do you mod the Halo game?

Halo 3 Legendary Edition

First, you need some equipment, including each of the items listed below. It may sound strange that you need Splinter Cell, but there's a reason.

Look at the list below and make sure you have all of the necessary equipment before you begin. Then watch the 3-part video series on this page to learn how to mod your Halo games.

Modding is a cool way to increase the fun of playing your games. If you're creative and technical, you might be able to come up with some mods of your own to use and share with other gamers.

Getting Good at Halo Means Playing More

The most important tip that anyone can give the serious Halo 2 or Halo 3 player is to practice. Your game play will only be as good as your own skills, and the only way to hone them is to practice.

When engaging in team play, it's best to find and keep the best players that you can find. Having a strong, well-practiced and trustworthy team will make all the difference. Game on!

Where to Find Skulls in Halo 3

You first saw skulls emerge in Halo 2 where some skulls created bad effects and others had something good to offer.

In Halo 3, skulls are back - and they're strategically placed in the levels on normal, heroic, and legendary settings.

If you're lucky enough to find a golden skull, you get some perks with Xbox 360. It will multiply your meta game score.

Skulls make the game more fun and it pits your talents against those of other gamers.

One skull is at the end of the first level called Sierra 117. You'll find it by looking behind the building where Sgt. Johnson is a prisoner on the roof.

Xbox 360 Wireless Halo 3 Spartan Controller

Go to the back of the right side of the building and up on the roof and then head to the opposite side of the roof, where the skull awaits you in the corner.

Another skull is at the beginning of the second level called the Crow's Nest, which is where you start out. You'll see piping hanging from the ceiling. The skull is laying on top of the piping.

A third skull is on level 3 where you se a covenant cruiser fly overhead. Look to the left where there's some piping along the road.

Under the piping are beams hanging over a cliff. If you jump onto the first beam and walk to the end of it, you'll find the skull to your left on a rock.

A fourth skull is on level 4. You normally destroy the Wraith Tanks, but to find the skull, don't do that.

When the tanks appear, so will the skull. If the tanks are destroyed, the skull will disappear. Head to the circular building by the anti-air tanker and jump on the roof to find the skull.

More Halo skull locations to come later...

Fuel Rod Cannon

One of the favorite weapons used against enemy vehicles is the Fuel Rod Cannon. If you're driving a vehicle which happens to be the target of a Fuel Rod Cannon, the absolute best chance you have if you're in the open is to hit the throttle and go toward the enemy, then veer off quickly either to the right or left.

Due to the limited tracking ability of the Fuel Rod Cannon, you should be able to dodge the missile.

More Action-Based Video Games for Gamers

There are many other great games besides just Halo. War games with massive online play are my favorite type of games.

Call of Duty 4:
Modern Warfare

Call of Duty 4, Timeshift, Gears of War, Farcry and Battlefield are all great games if you like Halo. Most of these are online and can be played through the PC. These are some highly recomended games.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Now this isn't online but trust me - it will feel like it as you battle tons of computers to win the war. I bought this on the PS3 and have nothing negative to say about it.

Timeshift - An online game where basically you can forward and slow down time. It also has 6 original modes to dominate in.

Gears Of War - Gears is also a huge online game that has just as many people as Halo 2 and 3 dedicated to it. I really need to buy this because I just rented it and had a blast!

Far Cry Instincts Predator - Okay, this is one of my top favorites. What won me over were the graphics and superb missions in the story.

Battlefield 2 Modern Combat - One of the greatest big team battles I know that's like Halo. Battlefield is huge - so no matter which version you get, you'll always have someone to blow up or snipe.

Spartan Laser

One of the Deadliest Halo Weapons

What would the third installment of the most popular game ever be without a new, incredibly deadly weapon? Halo 3 has given us the Spartan Laser, which pretty much decimates anything in its firing path.

You certainly don't want to find yourself on the wrong end of this weapon, but if you do, there IS a solution.

The Spartan Laser takes up to three seconds to charge before emitting its lethal burst, and can be countered with the Beam Rifle, Fuel Rod Cannon, Sniper Rifle and of course the Rocket Launcher.

Secret on Forge in the Pit

Okay, this is a simple trick in Halo 3. Go to edit form and fly to the staircases by the sword. Next, go to the edge of the gated part of the stairs. Then select a turret and place it on the other side of the gate.

(Make sure that you're right up against the gate when you do this.) Then put the turret on 10 seconds by pressing (X). Last, test it out. You might need to crouch to access the turret.

Then stay on it and turn in the gate. (DONT BREAK OFF THE TURRET.) You can use this trick on any gate of any level - it should put you on the other side of it! It's great for infection games.

Forge Mongoose Glitch

The mongoose trick is simple. Get a mongoose and you and a partner get on it. Then make the driver get off. Make the driver go into edit mode while the passenger is still on the back of the mongoose. Last, pickup the mongoose with the passenger still in it and take it anywhere your heart desires.
